*URGENT APPEAL FOR THE ANIMALS OF UKRAINE* 🇺🇦 *Dog & Cat Food + Leads, Collars & Harnesses* Thousands have been abandoned in the chaos 😢 The shelters and rescues are *desperate* for supplies!! A terrible war is raging in Ukraine, and animals are suffering terribly! Animal shelters are being inundated with unwanted pets as civilians flee the country or hunker down in bomb shelters. Vets and shelters are appealing to local people not to abandon their pets, but these pleas are mostly falling on deaf ears as locals flee to save themselves. Network For Animals is coordinating efforts to get supplies and help to them. Please donate if you can.

As many of you know, dog rescue is very close to our heart here at Woof Gang…For many years, i volunteered (and still do) at SOS El Arca in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It’s not just a dog shelter, it’s a rescue organization providing vital community service to the local population which saves lives and provides hope and new starts to hundreds of abandoned and neglected dogs each year…

Our Remembrance Day Walk on Battlestead Hill, Tatenhill. Though small in number we were mighty in spirit and heart ❤️ Emma O'brien Evie, Rachel Pickett, Bill and I with our trusty four-legs Nova, Scooby, Amelie and Sasha 🐕‍🦺
🌺 Exactly as we ascended, the church bells chimed 11 O’Clock and following the two minute silence, a bugle could be heard echoing across the valley. Lest We Forget.

Thank you to all those who both walked and donated. We raised £35 for Hounds for Heroes 🐾🙏🏾🐕‍🦺

Good morning ☀️ just a reminder it’s the 🌺Woof Gang Remembrance Day Community Walk today (Sunday 14th Nov).
🚗 Meeting at 10.15 for 10.30am start, from the car park opposite John Taylor Free School, Branston Rd, Tatenhill DE13 9SA
🌳 We should ‘summit’ Battlestead Hill just before 11am, so we can observe 2-mins silence in a beautiful spot with a glorious view.
🐕‍🦺 This particular walk is not a play session for the dogs. It’s more so they learn to focus on you, especially in the presence of other dogs, and for you both to feel calm and comfortable.

A few safety rules to observe so we can all enjoy:
*No Flexi-Leads* - please use a regular lead and keep your dog on the lead at all times.

*Space* - give all the dogs plenty of space, at least 2m distance. Some dogs are more social than others, some are grumpy, some are anxious, some over-enthusiastic, so please…

*Use the 3-Second Rule* - no face- or butt-sniffing for longer than 3-seconds (goes for both dogs and hoomans!)
Pick up the 💩- goes without saying!

Hopefully we will have a dry hour and a lovely time spent with out with our favorite four-legs 🐶

🌺 To mark Remembrance Day, Woof Gang is holding a Community Walk up Battlestead Hill this Sunday, 14th Nov @ 10.30am.
🌳 The route is via a steep hill and woodland and should take around an hour. There are no toilets or wheelchair access. A suggested donation of £5 to raise funds for Hounds for Heroes https://houndsforheroes.com/ 🐾🐶❤️

FIREWORK NIGHT 🎇 How were your dogs last night? 💥🐾🐶 Poor Jojo was a quivering wreck!! Ami crawled under the bed, Patrice & Sasha weren’t really bothered. Thanks to Jaxxon’s mum sending me the note about Classic FM, after half an hour of beautiful music, Jojo was 💤 in doggy-dreamsville (Sasha threw her an arm 🥰 which also helped).

The shelter in Playa Del Carmen where I volunteer, which saves hundreds of abandoned dogs every year, and who saved my Patrice. Today arrived Derek, a bit skinny but luckily in good shape. It costs them £260 to rescue an otherwise healthy dog like Derek, incl full medical screening, vaccines, sterilization, microchip… www.soselarca.org/donate
