Spring is here and Cannock Chase is looking amazing & the wildlife is busy!

I am looking at organising a small GROUP ride on 1st May so, if you are a single rider and would like to meet likeminded riders this is for you.

This would be a 10.30 am ride off and cost £40 pp. Max 6 riders. Full payment on booking to reserve place and sorry no refunds.

All my rides are relaxed and steady in pace so suitable for nervous riders or inexperienced horses.

This is a bring your own horse service & you must have your own public liability insurance.

If you would like to make a break of it or for any future dates we have teamed up with Tuppenhurst Barn B&B & Cafe who can offer superb horse, dog and human accommodation . What are you waiting for?

I’ve had a few messages lately asking about guided rides. Yes I am still doing them but I’ve been in hospital & I’ve been busy lately starting the training with your equine guide, Irish Draught, Indigo Clementine so that she’s ready for battle re-enactments later in the year.

This is the first time introducing a sword. We also did fire arms training today. She did so well.

If you do want a ride, please message me again and I will book you in.

All rides are entirely bespoke but relaxed & leisurely in pace. I specialise in nervous riders.

And this is why I always tell my riders- get yourself a guide. Do not go off road on Cannock Chase. It’s an ex military zone!!

CANNOCK CHASE: Earlier today, officers from Rugeley assisted the Bomb Disposal Unit carry out a controlled explosion after a live WW1 Mk2 Hand Gr***de was found by a member of public on Cannock Chase.

The member of public is very lucky after they mistakenly picked it up and moved it from it's original location to a public car park and only after the pin fell out of it realised they were in danger, thankfully it did not detonate.

If you ever come across something you believe to be an explosive, please DO NOT pick it up, instead leave it in situ, move away from the item - 100 metres away if you can, make others in the area aware and tell them to move away also and call 999 as soon as you can.

Clemmie and I haven’t had much chance to get out and about with our lovely riders of late as we have had a lot of other work on, such as yesterday’s Halloween photo shoot.

I thought those of you who have ridden with Clemmie would like to see what she looks like (largely) clean 🤣 so here are a couple of images- the first ones to come in.

Clemmie was a real trouper and a consummate professional.

The weather really was bloody awful with gale force winds- she was in a strange venue, with strange horses and lots of distractions and hazards such as falling branches from trees 🤪, and at times I was completely blind and yet she was solid and really looked after her “mommy”
