lessons start back on Thursday 18th Jan with a jumping lesson with Rachel. Lessons on the 18th are in the morning.

We are starting off with a jumping lesson with Rachel George, then the following week it will be flatwork with Andrew Jones at Alps.

If you'd like to represent the club do get in touch with Jan to discuss what's involved and again make sure you are eligible by renewing your membership. Entries are only possible from folks who have been members of the club for a minimum of 28 days.

UPDATE
With extremely short notice we have been informed that the Red Lion is temporarily closed as their heating and ovens are not functioning so instead of cancelling the opportunity to save time at qualifier show I've had to change the location.
So please now call up to the top/big school at Pencoed College weds 8th feb between 7 and 8 Mair and Jenny will be available to us.
Apologies for this change. Totally beyond my control

Hi folks as you all know the BRC have updated the hat safety standard and new hat tags are required for competitors in 2023.
In view of this to help those who plan to compete at BRC qualifiers and champs this year we thought it would be helpful to have the opportunity to get your hat tagged before you go to competitions saving time on the day.
I have asked Mair and Jenny from Southerndown RC to run a tagging session for clubs local to Cardiff/Bridgend and they have kindly agreed to come to the Red Lion, Bonvilston, Vale of Glamorgan. next Wednesday 8th Feb. from 7 til 8ish PM
so bring your hats along stay for a chat and drink if you fancy everyone welcome.

please be aware of the format the SJ qualifier is running under. this information is in the BRC handbook pages 27-28
QUALIFIER FORMAT IS RUN UNDER OPTION 3
The format as follows:
Option 3 - 2 rounds with a jump-off following straight on from the second round, with only competitors who are double clear move onto the jump-off section. Teams may then either have a separate jump-off or the second-round times will be used to resolve ties.
Option 3
Each team member will jump both rounds with the best three scores to count in each round for the team total. If a team member is eliminated or gains in excess of 24 jumping penalties in the first round, they are not permitted to compete in the second round.

A little bit of good news which will allow us to get back to training and competitions.
Organised UNDER 18's sport is now permitted
Organised outdoor sports activities involving up to 30 people including over 18's will now be able to start from the 26th April
so venues with two outdoor arenas will then be able to run competitions and training.
Indoor schools can be used from the 3rd May for training and Indoor Arenas can be used for organised sports with upto 15 people from the 10th May, so venues with an indoor and outdoor arena can run competitions from that date.

Soo with all this in mind we are recommencing our training with flatwork lesson with Sam Whyley for the U18's on Monday 19th April and a jumping lesson with Rachel George on Friday 23rd April

Then in May events and training for all members can recommence. Here is what is planned.

ALL TRAINING BACK ON

C&VRC COVID 19 rules and guidance for those attending training.

Our priority is the safety of our members, volunteers and families. This guidance is to help support our club to resume and continue activity safely, whilst following Government guidance and within Government restrictions.

For activity to successfully continue, these principles must be complied with, in a spirit of understanding and support for the organisers and everyone involved.

Here are C&VRC's requirements of members participating in lessons and clinics at Alps EC.

Whilst welsh government local lockdown is in place, ALL C&VRC activity at Alps EC is restricted to residents of the Vale of Glamorgan. Members who live outside of VOG will be asked to return home if they attend.

No spectators allowed indoors. A maximum or 1 person may assist you ie a driver or a groom but this person must not spectate indoors. the should remain with your vehicle. Spectators will be asked to leave the building.

Everyone is requested to wear a face covering at ALL times whilst not on board a horse.

Maintain your 2m social distancing

Please use the NHS track and trace QR code located on the C&VRC noticeboard to enable speedy communication between participants of positive Corona virus case.

Please park at least 5m apart

If you are symptomatic or living in a household with someone else who has a possible or confirmed COVID-19 infection you should remain at home and not attend any training.

During this extraordinary time please make sure that you have read these rules and that they are followed at all times until we advise you that the situation has changed.
