Some exciting news, my husband has taken over the cafe at CrossFit Chester le Street (old Argos building) they’re very dog friendly (infact we prefer dogs) and serve food all day. They’re giving away 50 coffees away on Sunday after the remembrance parade, call in and say hello.

🍂🐾 Autumn Dog Walking Tips 🐾🍂

Cooler temps and colorful leaves make autumn the perfect time for walks with your dog! 🐕🍁 Here are some quick tips to keep your pup safe:

1️⃣ Adjust Your Routine: As days get shorter, try walking during daylight to avoid being out in the dark.

2️⃣ Stay Visible: Bright clothing, hi-vis gear, and light-up collars can help you and your dog stay safe during late walks.

3️⃣ Beware of Hazards: Watch for lungworm, acorns, conkers, and slug pellets – all pose risks to dogs. Keep them close and don’t let them eat anything suspicious!

Our gorgeous rescue Tess came in for her first ultrasonic dental. Caring for your dog’s teeth is crucial for their overall health and well-being. Dental disease is common in dogs and can lead to pain, tooth loss, and systemic issues like heart and kidney problems. WARNING, VIEWERS MAY FIND VIDEO DISTRESSING! Our little Ollie had a seizure whilst in the salon today. We thought we would take this opportunity to educate our followers in case this should happen to your dog at home. This video was taken after Ollie had came out of his seizure so we could pass it to the vet/mum. Ollie DID NOT fit, Ollie went stiff and unresponsive to touch or sound, being trained Canine First Aiders, we knew Ollie was having a seizure. What should you do next? STAY CALM…. As Ollie was not fitting we knew he was safe from hurting himself or us. We moved him into a bed and lay him on his side. We kept the area dark and quiet until he came around. Once he became responsive, we then reassured him he was safe by sitting in his kennel with him until mum and dad collected him and took him to the vets. If he was fitting, we would place him on a soft bed or blanket, off the grooming table and move anything from around him and allow him to fit. There is nothing you can do to stop it, but time how long it lasts and inform your vet. Do not try and intervene, fitting dogs can bite unintentionally. We are delighted to say, Ollie is fine, he is being monitored and has medication should he have another.
