So many lovely horses and ponies are now here at Wick Farm including these two gorgeous girls that are lovely RoR projects.

Froggy only raced a number of weeks ago and her lovely owner has decided after a few seasons racing that she deserves a new career and is here for retraining. She has the loveliest brain and has a very grown up attitude for her 5 years.

Monkey is only 3 and has been given the time she needs to see what her future is. She is RoR eligible but has never raced. A really sweet girl who takes every day in her stride and is another one to fit into our relaxed environment.

It’s been a busy morning with all the horses taking the opportunity to be weighed and get some nutrition advice from Allen & Page Horse Feeds and the lovely Simone.

We will shortly have a space available for our assisted DIY or part livery. We do not offer traditional DIY livery.

We are a small yard with year round turnout, arena with floodlights and lovely liveries.

We also have the opportunity for temporary grass livery for 3-4 months in a separate, large paddock.

Spring is definitely in the air. We have been lucky to be able to turn out everyday and the paddocks have held up really well considering the rain we have had and we cannot wait to get the paddocks harrowed and rolled in the coming weeks.

Training at home is a new luxury for us and It was lovely to have Annabel Scrimgeour here for some much needed dressage training.

It was a busy weekend here at Wick Farm but it was great to get our first British Eventing outing of the season under our belts. It’s always a worry when moving any horses or ponies to a new yard but ours seem very relaxed, settled and happy after their move one week earlier.

It was brilliant and fascinating to welcome Equine Bio Genie to the stables today.

To ensure the health of our stable mates we wanted to ensure each stable, the tack room and even the lorry were treated so there is no opportunity for any ‘nasties’ laying dormant and being passed on. We are very proud to offer a very healthy environment to any horses or ponies that choose to come and base themselves here.

Just testing the waters to see if there would be any interest in retirement livery? £50 per week, checked twice daily. Lots of grass and a sheltered shared field. Will be able to use the facilities for farrier visits etc

We will be looking for another member to join our team on a part-time/flexible basis to help with usual stable duties.

It may suit someone who would like to bring their horse and help out or a freelancer who can help with regular help with the other amazing members of our team.

We have been inundated with enquiries since we announced the opening of our new yard and we just want to say thank you.

As a small, family run yard our aim will always be to offer an enjoyable, professional yard for your horse to thrive and for you to enjoy.

We are very excited to be greeting some new arrivals this weekend when we officially open and will have room for just 2 more like minded people who are looking for to find their ideal base and enjoy the beautiful surroundings we have to offer.

It’s been a really busy and productive day spring cleaning and powerwashing the stables to ensure they are all clean and tidy and ready to welcome their new equine guests in a couple of weeks. Before any horses or ponies arrive we are expecting a visit from an equine biosecurity company to ensure that we can offer the healthiest of environments.

We are excited for those that are already planning to join us and happy to discuss your livery needs for the couple of boxes still available.
