The Paws Puppy is a nervous boy when faced with new situations and is very easily overwhelmed. To help him bring his anxieties and nervousness levels down as much as possible, we offer enrichment activities throughout the the day. Today he’s worked hard at meeting new dogs and relearning disengagement. A lickiMat once we’ve got home has helped him keep the anxious feelings at bay. Licking helps calm/soothe the dog and releases the necessary hormones into the brain to help make them feel safe and relaxed.
