Qualified Level 2 Dog Groomer 😬🐩🐾 📝
This time last year I decided to embark on a new business idea to collaborate Dog Grooming into my Equestrian Business. A year later I’m now a newly qualified level 2 dog groomer (Level 3 starting next Feb) 🤓
To say it’s been harder than expected is an understatement. I naively thought I would be as confident and competent with the dog’s as I am with the horses, how wrong was I?? 🫣
This journey has really humbled me, reminding me what it’s like to start from the beginning again. I had no idea how complex dog grooming was, especially if wanting to be very good! Different breeds, temperaments, coat types and conditions, behaviour issues, owners requests, not to mention all the variety of blades and scissors needed and when and how to use them 🤯
At times I have nearly given it up, but with the support of my amazing friends and Adam I have stuck with it and I’m so glad I did! 😁
I still have a lifetime of experience, learning and confidence to build on but I’m throwing my self in to so many settings to build on these foundations and cannot wait to see the results of my grooms get better in time 🤞🏼
Thank you to all of my friends who have allowed me to practice on their dogs. It’s really helped me ❤️
A special mention to my great friend and amazing groomer @josanders8 who really helped me turn a corner last week with my confidence and foundations
You don’t win by making excuses.
“I can’t do it because I’m not good at it.”
“I can’t do it because I have no capital.”
“I can’t do it because I’m not confident.”
“I can’t do it because I failed at it one time.”

The difference in the end finish when a horse is groomed regularly and bathed before clipping is so satisfying. It makes my job so much easier and quicker. I managed to get this Hunter clip done today in just under 35 minutes ✂️💨
I’d like to wish all of my clients and horses a very Merry Christmas 🎄and a Happy New Year 🐴. It has been a very successful couple of months since the start of freelance life and I want to thank you all for your custom 😃

Another day, another clip ✂️🐴 🔘Top Tip for pre clipping🔘 Always make sure you have clean, well oiled and sharp blades on your clippers and at least another spare set to hand incase your current blades go blunt or the screw comes loose! #clipping

🔘Top Tip Of The Week🔘 With clipping season underway, there are many things to consider pre-clip, during clip and post clip. During clipping (especially a grey horse) it is really important to take that extra time going over your clip lines several times, running the blades over the coat at multiple angles in order to create that line free, smooth finish! #clipping
