Well, March has brought rain.......so, let's talk reproofing.
Here at Simply Rugs we only use RugSafe UK reproofer.
❓How does it work❓
The re-proofer works by coating every individual fibre of the rug instead of blanket coating & contains no silicones or waxes which maintains the breathability of modern rugs.
❓Is it suitable for all turnout rugs❓
Yes! RugSafe water repellents are suitable for all types of turnout rugs after washing.
❓When would I know if my rug needs reproofing❓
A tell tale sign of a rug that may be in need of reproofing is that moisture no longer "beads" on the material, catch it early before you end up with a wet neddy!
❓Does re-proofing guarantee a waterproof rug❓
Unfortunately not. As rugs get older, the fibre of the material can break down. Unfortunately if the waterproof membrane is degrading the re-proofer will not be able to do it's job. 😔 We have the ability to test your rugs to see if the membrane is no longer waterproof.
Now for the science behind the test! This involves a "leak test". Once the leak is discovered it is possible to gauge the saturation time to ascertain the effectiveness of the membrane. Please ask for more details if you require this service.
