🐾Happy Monday!🐾
This is the wonderful Bryn, he is a growing boy so had to visit us for a weight check. This allows us to ensure we are giving him the correct parasite control.
Our nurse Charlotte awarded him with the honour of “the waggiest tail ever!” ♥️

You may remember the lovely Alan and the story we posted about his toe amputation last year. The team were thrilled to see him back in the clinic today and just had to have a cuddle with him and of course a photo. We’re so glad he’s happy to come in and see us still! 🩵

Temperatures are rising again, it's important to be mindful of our pets in this heat and recognise the signs of heatstroke. There are things we can do to try and keep them as comfortable as possible.

⚠️Ensure pets have access to fresh water, ventilation and shade
⚠️Do not exercise dogs during the hottest part of the day. Stick to early mornings, late evenings or avoid altogether. Remember, 'if in doubt, don't go out!'
⚠️To see if it’s too hot for your dog’s paws do the five second tarmac test
⚠️Never leave dogs in cars, even if windows open

Pets with heatstroke can deteriorate quickly, if you have any concerns please call us immediately.

🐰Rabbit Awareness Week🐰
Environment is very important to ensuring you have healthy happy bunnies.
Rabbits should always be kept in (at least) bonded pairs as they are highly social animals.
A pair of medium sized bunnies should have a large secure enclosure measuring at least 3m x 2m x 1m, this should include a shelter to shield from the elements and an exercise area.
Hiding places and platforms will encourage your bunnies to explore their environment, boxes and toys will also provide extra stimulation. Rabbits also love to dig! Consider putting some child friendly sand in your enclosure.

🐰Rabbit Awareness Week🐰
Seeing as we have been talking about the warmer weather, it's important not to forget our bunnies when we are talking about the heat.
Not forgetting flystrike it is especially common in the summer months but there are things you can do to help prevent it:
🪰Keep your rabbits housing/environment clean and dry
🪰Check your rabbits bottom every day and clean away any urine or faeces
🪰Any overweight bunnies should be encouraged to lose weight, this will help them clean themselves properly
🪰Apply a flystrike preventative treatment, if you would like to know more about these treatments please call the clinic to chat with one of our nurses
If you think your rabbit is suffering with heat stroke or flystrike, please call the clinic immediately.
