Please read this post and information from Eilidh, one of the groomers at our salon.

The same applies with me too.

People just aren’t taking on board the amount of extra work, stress (to both myself and the dog) and damage to equipment involved when dealing with matted dogs. Schedules are important and will be implemented fully going forward.

Hi everyone.

Recently, I’ve unfortunately had multiple shave offs - almost one every day the past week.

Matting to this extent is extremely uncomfortable for your dog. It pulls and tugs all over their body (especially in sensitive areas) and restricts movement. Health conditions are also hidden under matted hair. Blood flow is restricted to tails and ears, the list goes on.

Grooming is more than just a “hair cut”, it’s necessary maintenance.

From now, any doodle breed (cavapoo, cockapoo, poochon, goldendoodle etc) must be on a schedule and have an appointment pre booked.

As every dogs coat is different, I will advise on a 4-10 week schedule. If you cannot follow this advice, unfortunately I’m not the groomer for you. The other groomers in the salon will also be giving out the same advice.

In the past week, 3 of my blades have become blunt and unusable due to the matting. I’ve ran over appointment times due to having to take extra time for the shave off and I’ve stayed late to squeeze matted dogs in last minute. All of this is easily prevented with regular appointments and brushing.

Just a reminder that my matting fee starts from £10. The more severe case, the higher the fee.

I don’t like having to make posts like these but it needs to be done.

Happy New Year to you all 🥳❤️

Just a wee update on where I am, going forward this year.
I’ll be cutting my hours back more as I’ve other commitments this year that I’m excited about.
So during school term I won’t be working later than 5:30pm.
This means I’ll be limiting my availability more, so I’m sorry to say I won’t be in a position to accommodate any new dogs/puppies. This also applies to existing clients who add to thier family 🐾
Any new doggies needing groomed will be in good hands with the other groomers in the salon. ❤️

❌❌❌ NO SHOWS ❌❌❌

The past few weeks there has been times when I can’t offer an appointment that suits my clients, as I’m too busy and wait time is approx 3 weeks. The other groomers in the salon have been kind enough to accommodate grooms sooner if they can.
On a few occasions these clients have failed to show up to their appointments and haven’t had the decency to call to give notice of cancellation. This is completely unfair and unacceptable! We do not deserve to be sitting around losing money when we have people waiting for appointments. These spaces could be filled with us being given notice.
So, from now on, if you book with another groomer, fail to show up, fail to answer the calls that are made to you, and fail to pay the no show fee, I will no longer accommodate either.
My colleagues or myself do not deserve to be treated like this.

For all grooms booked: please give at least 24 hrs notice to cancel or a £20 no show fee has to be paid before any rebooking will take place.

Good morning all ☺️

Just a wee update.

I’ve had some time off to recoup and recharge 🥰
I’ll be back at the salon taking appointments from 9th May. I will only be grooming part time still, so appointments are limited.
There will also be some price increase from May 1st.
I have held off putting my prices up as I know things are difficult for everyone at the moment, but I still have the same overheads to pay, but grooming less. I’ve also kept them lower than other groomers charge.

Afternoon all 👋 I’d just like to say thank you so much for all your kind messages, comments and offers of going shopping for me and the girls the past week, it has been hugely appreciated 🥰 I get the all clear to leave the house tmw 🙌🏻 but won’t be rushing back to work tmw. Ive booked appointments for later in the week and a couple each day over the weekend to catch up on all cancelled grooms. Ive been in the salon the last couple of days and gave it a proper good clean 🧼 I will continue to meet outside for the handover of dogs and will be wearing a mask from now on too while outdoors. Not because I’m contagious 😷 but because I don’t want to risk ever having this again. So...where possible if groom fees can continue to be bank transferred and where cash is being paid, if we can go back to cash in a poo bag, attached to dog lead...this cuts down close contact. My hands will continue to be sanitized immediately before taking your dogs lead, and again before I put your dogs collar and lead back on. If there’s anything else anyone feels I could or should be doing to make this a safer situation please let me know...we’re all learning how to live with this virus at the end of the day. I’ll be in touch to rebook everyone by the end of today and those who have messaged to book will be booked in for next week. Morning all.....Monday mornings are bad enough, but to write this post is emotional 😔 I’m sad to say that as of 13th of May I will no longer be grooming at Charlie’s. I have been offered the most amazing opportunity to go work elsewhere and it’s beyond my dreams and expectations of where I could be after less than 3 years of grooming. Those of you who know me outwith bringing your dog to the salon, know how my life has changed the past year and the doubts I’ve been having. This is the best result for me and my family. To say I will be sad to see Charlie’s close is an understatement, it’s been my first time venturing out into the world of self employment and it’s you guys that have made it as successful as it’s been. I honestly couldn’t have asked for any more or better from you all 💕 So from now, my diary is closed for any new appointments as April is now full. I will honour all appointments up to Saturday 11th May, and if your booked in after this time, please PM me and I will try my best to accommodate you either evenings or weekends. I’m sorry but I won’t be doing any grooming at all once I start my new position. I’ll be working full time, so weekends is for family time. Last words.....thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
