Nice day out at Drogan & District Canine Society at their new venue in Kilmarnock which is lovely.
Haggis 1st in Graduate then went on to win Best of Breed 😊❤️🐶 I was in shock winning
Sooty taking a nice 4th place as he's had about 7 months out the ring

What are you paying for when your dog gets groomed?

At a time where it seems everything is so expensive you might wonder why dog grooming prices aren't cheap these days.. but are they, when you consider the cost involved in providing a dog grooming service ?

What you pay in turn goes towards paying for...

Salon rent
Electricity
Shampoo( £60 5ltr)
Conditioner( same as shampoo)
Ear cleaner(£40 500ml)
Sprays ( colognes, anti tangle spray, scissors mist etc)
Brushes
Combs
Scissors( these literally cost £100's per pair)
Clippers ( usually around £350 a pair)
Clipper blades (£30-£50 each..a wide selection needed)
Trimmers (£150+)
Tables ( £600+)
High velocity dryers ( £600+)
Finishing dryer (£600+)
Cabin dryer (£3000+)
Hydrobath(£3000+)
Servicing
Sharpening
Software
Insurance
Education (thousands upon thousands of pounds)

A skill set that enables your groomer to provide a top class service...priceless

Then, after all that, your dog groomer needs to make a wage to pay their own bills and make provisions for sick and holiday pay because if we don't work we don't get paid if ww don't set aside for this!

For the price you pay you get a dog who

Gets a minimum of two shampoos..however many washes it takes to clean the dirt from them.

Conditioner

Nails trimmed

Nails filed if dog allows

Pads trimmed

Poopy bum cleaned

Eye bogies removed

Ears cleaned if needed

Dried with at least 2 types of hair dryer to make their coat perfect for grooming.

A bespoke clip/handstrip/scissors cut .

Products used are of the highest quality possible..if they're not good enough for my show dogs they're not good enough for your beautiful babies!

This is why as things go up in price we have to do the same.
At Posh Dugz I've tried my best to keep prices affordable but it means the company or myself is doing without so prices may go up shortly small/med dogs have only went up £2 in the last 3 or 4 years as I've tried to help customers best I could but we've been hit with lots of things going up way higher than £2 and most have done price increases numerous times from start of Covid

Hi folk will know from my double hand surgery back in February then staff member left so I had to cut back on some of the dogs I could physically do per day.
Now I have a new bather so we have some more available spaces.

What a great Sunday down in Mid Wales.
Wee Haggis showed his wee paws off and done me and Co owner Gillian Tierney proud

1st Minor Puppy Dog,
Won Best Puppy Dog,
Then Won Best Puppy in Breed ❤️

Unfortunately we never managed to win Best Puppy in Show but he loved his first time of hopefully many in the Big Main Ring on the green carpet.

Now to see what this Saturday brings at Darlington, North Riding open show and North of England Hunt, Point Retrieve Club Open Show.
Then Monday he has Driffield Champ show so fingers crossed for a great weekend coming up

Roddy - Business Owner and Award Winning Dog Groomer.

Roddy is well known in the dog grooming industry, from having his mobile grooming van covering Fife and other areas around Scotland, where he established a great client base. The van became a huge success to local residents in and around Fife, Roddy then opened up a Salon in Glenrothes to further his services to the local residents and their 4 legged companions.

At Posh Dugz we pride ourselves on our first class customer services and offer a 1-2-1 dog grooming experience’s from nails, baths to full grooms (pet and breed standard), so that your dog has our undivided attention whilst visiting the salon. This means nervous dogs and first timers to a salon environment get a very relaxed custom experience around their needs. We also have a small play room in the salon where your dog can play with the toys have some fresh water or a snooze whilst waiting on you coming to collect them.

Dani - Salon Manager.

Dani has years of experience working with dogs and is very dog orientated. Dani has dog behavior qualifications, and is an asset to our small salon, helping make sure the dogs are as comfortable as they can be in what may be a stressful environment for dogs, particularly nervous dogs and our first timers to a dog salon.

Dani runs the day to day business of the salon from appointments, admin as well as washing the dogs and making sure they are well cared for, and handled correctly.

We take all of our dogs needs seriously and have procedures in place so that we do not miss if a dog has extra special needs such as skin conditions, hip dysplasia, deafness, post operation sores etc.

Lillias - Bather

Lillias has years of experience in bathing our four legged friends, Lillias’ gentle nature and approach makes our clients feel relaxed in her capable hands, making sure your pooch is photo ready after a bath and brush.

Our Aim at the salon is to ensure that every dog who comes to visit us feels safe, comfortable and looked after not just for their sake but to give their hoomans confidence that their dog is receiving a first class service whilst in the salon.

Both Roddy and Dani are Canine First Aid Qualified, their certificates can be viewed at any time whilst visiting the salon.

Dani and Roddy are both qualified and experienced Pet Portrait Photographers and will be opening their very own dog portrait studio within the salon - so stay tuned for this exciting news and look out for the newly decorated studio up coming.
