Hundreds of cats dying in the UK. The Royal Veterinary College and the Food Security Agency are working hard to find the cause.
The only common factor is the diet of the cats. Several cat dry food brands were recalled but as yet there is no confirmation that the food is causing this usually very rare condition.
Information can be found on the websites of the RVC and the FSA.
A lot of people are not aware of the severity and the news programs are not covering it, which is a shame as it could save lives. Please spread the word especially to cat owners that are not on social media.

❗There has been a cat food recall from the Food Standard Agency regarding some products from AVA, Applaws and Sainsbury's Hypoallergenic❗

There is an increase in cats within the UK falling ill with Pancytopenia.

Pancytopenia causes reduced levels of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
Symptoms incl: lethargy, high temperature and pale gums, blood in the urine or faeces and small areas of bruising to the skin or gums.

There seems to be a connection to the cat food that was recalled from the FSA (which is not confirmed yet!)

Please check your cat food and if your cat has any of the above symptoms contact your vet.

🐾 After all these months in lockdown we are all longing for some time away whether for a weekend break or a longer vacation.

If you are starting to make plans for when the Government guidelines allow travel and need to make arrangements for care of your cat(s), please contact us to make a booking. We understand that under current conditions plans need to be flexible, so we will work with you to ensure that your furry family members are cared for should you have any short notice changes.

We can reassure you that we are following the safety guidelines from HSE. The initial home visit can take place over video call or zoom meeting. 🐾
