We would like to inform all our clients that it’s has been over a year since we started using CVETS out of hours services at Chiverton for the weekends and bank holidays. We have been very pleased with the professional and quality of care from this dedicated team.

From July 1st we will be using their fantastic services for weeknights too. This is to provide the best possible 24hr care for our patients. 🐶 🐈 🚨

In case of an emergency ring our usual number and CVETS number will be left as a message.

🐕Canine arthritis is a painful condition, but how do we recognise signs of pain in our pets? Look out for the following:

1) Limping/looking stiff.
2) Licking persistently over joints.
3) Quieter than normal.
4) Decreased interaction/playfulness
with the family.

Thursday 28th March 630pm
All day and night Good Friday until Saturday 30th March 830am.
Saturday 30th March 1230pm, all day and night Easter Sunday and Monday until Tuesday 2nd April 830am

Then back to our normal opening hours

As well as providing care to all the clients of our local user practices we are also happy to provide advice and care to any holiday makers.
We understand how stressful it is when your pet becomes sick or injured whilst you are away from your normal veterinary practice.
If your animal requires ongoing treatment once we close we will liase with the closest subscribing veterinary practice to where you are staying and if required arrange transport to the practice in partnership with Animals at Home Cornwall pet ambulance as part of our service

🐈 From the 10th June 2024 it is compulsory for all cats over the age of 20 weeks to be microchipped 🐈

Failure to comply could lead to a fine of £500.

At Animal Vets we offer microchipping for £10.

Deadline for an exemption certificate for XL Bully type breeds is midday on the 31st January 2024.

From 1st February 2024 it will be illegal to own a Bully type breeds without an exemption certificate.

WOW! what can we say! we agreed before going to Royal Cornwall Show that our aim was a total of around £3000.... its fair to say we smashed it!
£7879.76 was raised by NAWT Cornwall at this years Royal Cornwall Show!!!!
We wanted to take a moment to say a couple of thank yous. The first one to our friends at Animal Vets who sponsored our pitch, something they do every year for us to ensure every penny we make goes towards caring for the cats and dogs in our care. THANK YOU!
Thank you to Star Linen Hire St Ives Cornwall for sponsoring our new table cloths which made the marquee look amazing! and will be used for years to come.
And the biggest thank you to our volunteers who helped either at the event, or in prepping and making stock for us to sell. Without you this would not be possible. The days were long and our feet hurt by the end of it, but what an amazing total to walk away with! THANK YOU!

🏥🚑From this weekend, Animal Vets will be working with C-Vets for the provision of Out of Hours Emergency Care at weekends and bank holidays. This means that between 6.30pm on Friday and 8.00am on Mondays that emergency care will be delivered by C-Vets.

This will also be the case on bank holidays. When we are closed during weekdays (between 6.00pm to 8am Mondays to Fridays apart from Thursday when we close at 5pm) emergency care will continue to be provided by your team at Animal Vets.

We have taken the decision to use C-Vets for part of our Out of Hours Emergency service due to the national shortage of veterinary surgeons. By working with C-Vets we will ensure that we continue to provide you with an exceptional service during our opening hours.

Please note that we will continue to run Saturday morning clinics at Hayle. 🏥🚑
