About me: Hi i'm Pumpkin and I am the perfect mix of love and spice and all things nice! I am a VERY typical terrier! I have a lot of energy, a lot of opinions and I need my family to be fairly active and keep my little brain occupied! Being a typical terrier means I have a pretty high prey drive and so I don't want to live with cats or small animals. I am also a bit nervous of smaller children but absolutely love any other humans! I enjoy cuddles on the sofa, long walks, playing tug and doing obedience training and would love to do some sport work like agility if my new family wanted to. I have a big personality and and looking for an active family to share my life with!

Happy birthday Millie Moomin 🩷 I can’t believe she’s 13, I was only 12 when we rescued Millie and it truly had such a huge impact on my life. 🥹 If it wasn’t for Millie (& Max) I would never have been so passionate about the dog rescue movement, therefore Helping Hounds wouldn’t have ever existed.. 🫶🏽 This is a beautiful thing as now we impact the lives of rescue dogs across the UK and soon the world… 🥹🐾🤎

Sansa is still looking for her forever family 🤎

This girl is so STUNNING!

Our beautiful Sansa is STILL looking for a family to call her own - tell me this face isn't one you'd like to wake up to every day?!

This sweet young girl is only 3 years old and has been through a lot in her short life already. She was brought over to the UK from Romania by a charity at a year old and placed with a family with all the best intentions. After a family break up, Sansa's previous owners were struggling to manage her and she became lead reactive towards people and dogs. So they decided to surrender her to us to allow her to work on her behavior and find her a perfect forever home.

Sansa has come on LEAPS and BOUNDS since we first took her on, is an incredibly loving and playful young girl and really enjoys making new friends wherever she goes. She is the most perfect girl with all grooming and basic handling like nail cutting, ear cleaning and bathing and really enjoys her walks and exploring new places! She is friendly with both people and dogs and her only issue is needing more socialization with other dogs as she can be too rough when she wants to play and simply doesn't know that she is a fairly large young lady!

This girl really is something special and we know her perfect family are out there somewhere so please share this post to help our girl find her perfect family!

We are extremely excited to share that we have partnered with Helping Hounds - an incredible dog walking and pet care company making a difference in the dog world!

Tarni reached out to me very early on after we launched Hopeful Hounds as she regularly donates a portion of the funds they make from their company to support rescues and asked if they could donate their monthly funds to us. Of course we were thrilled and so in February Helping Hounds raised and donated £75 to Hopeful Hounds!

A few weeks ago, Tarni reached out as she wanted to make supporting certain rescues with regular donations and wanted us to be one of their choices! So we are extremely excited to say Helping Hounds will be kindly making a regular monthly donation to Hopeful Hounds to support our ongoing rescue efforts and help us to help more dogs like Logan, Pumpkin and Sansa!

We'll be sharing updates as this wonderful partnership develops and we cannot thank Tarni and the team enough for their support of our little rescue!

We have news!! We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Hopeful Hounds Dog Rescue! Hopeful Hounds 🐾 Each month going forward, we proudly donate to support their remarkable efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need. 🐶

In the spotlight today is Sansa, a beautiful Romanian rescue who is currently looking for her forever home. Sansa’s resilient spirit and loving nature make her a perfect companion for the right family. We are hopeful that she will soon find the loving home she deserves. Lastly, let’s celebrate Logan, Hopeful Hounds’ very first rescue. Logan is a Staffordshire Terrier who has found his forever home and is now living his best life. Yesterday our Sansa was lucky enough to have a photo shoot with Pawtraits by Jess and we can't wait to show you the beautiful shots she got of her!

This beautiful girl is still looking for her forever home and is looking for a perfect family to call her own!

She is a 3 year old, Romanian rescue mixed breed most like a Shepherd and is quite large at about 35kg! However, don't be put off with her size, Sansa is a genuinely lovely dog who is kind, loving and simply loves life! She is friendly with people and dogs, walks well on the lead, is crate trained, knows sit and down and has started recall training. This girl really is just a big puppy looking for someone to love and we are so excited to find her the perfect forever home.

Every step we take brings us closer to the goal we have for this fundraiser, supporting those fighting the battle against cancer and their loved ones🌟🤎 Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, whether it's through donations, encouragement, or simply cheering us on!

Thrilled to announce that our February donation is to Hopeful Hounds 🥹🤎 Hopeful Hounds is a dog rescue charity founded by professional dog trainer and behaviourist, Charlotte. They recently started their journey in rescuing and rehabilitating dogs who needed further one to one support and professional training before rehoming like Logan & Pumpkin 🐕

Logan, the Staffordshire Terrier🐾 Hopeful Hound’s first rescue of the year. He was due to be euthanised because of OCD behaviours where he would chew his tail when stressed. He’s now out on trial to his forever home and doing incredibly well!

Pumpkin, the Patterdale Terrier🐶 She came to Hopeful Hounds with reactivity towards other dogs and small animals and very nervous. She will be heading out on trial next week to a potential forever family now that she’s gained a lot of confidence and is ready to take on the world!

As we continue to grow, we’re dedicated to supporting causes like theirs, where rescue dogs are nurtured, rehabilitated and find loving homes. Here’s to donating to incredible organizations like Hopeful Hounds. Hounds Helping Hounds 🐶🫱🏻‍🫲🏽🐶

This January, we proudly donated 15% of our profits to the RSPCA Hertfordshire branch, a cause that holds a special place in our hearts as the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world. RSPCA centres took in more than 29,000 cats and dogs. Found new homes for 27,500 animals. They also answered over 1 million animal welfare calls in 2022. 🌟 🌎

At Helping Hounds, supporting rescue animals is more than a mission; it's a commitment rooted in personal experience. Our beloved rescue dogs, Millie & Max, entered our families lives and changed them for the better. Their boundless love, resilience, and joy inspired us to extend our passion for pets beyond our own home.
