Progress not perfection
Just 10 days in she has gone from snatching the reins, rushing, rearing, napping to this ๐ still lots to work on but definitely on the right path the first few days I just did groundwork she was very confused with seat leg and hand aids with very high energy so brought her down a few levels in her head so she could take on little questions , back to basics , learning her own balance which will create confidence in her , working long ,work little and often so she can process without panic she is a lovely mare just needs a restart to her ridden education ๐ค

One of this little ladies issues is machinery today she smashed it walking through unfazed happy and content after out ridden session ๐ค #schoolinglivery
One of the pole sessions from today, I love raised poles so many benefits , engage core and hind leg , help the topline , strength, suppleness, highlight any problem areas good for their mental health aswell as physical , polework plays a massive part in my work plans for all.
So this happened today I have been working with this mare only a short while , she can be extremely explosive at times especially in transitions so I am doing everything I can to help her move forward more freely and confident , light seat into canter , helping her pick up the correct lead , no frame and lots of praise she has been a pleasure to work with and her owner is over the moon see comments this is not perfect but it is progression in the right way โค
A massive shoutout to Justine Miller and Paul Weston for their first canter in an open space over the last few days this is a massive achievement and I'm so bloody proud of them and their girls โค
The gang and I enjoyed some lovely early morning hill canter work yesterday ๐
So bloody proud of this horse our 2nd ODE at this point we was lying 6th , she gave me an incredible run , our last combination was skinny water step and she only saw the water at the last second and just panicked she is so honest bless her , I did dismount and get her to the water so we ended on a good note I will work on this now ready for our next one I am so proud she jumped things we hadn't done in training cant wait for the next one , a massive thankyou to Loren Langford and Kath for being awesome grooms and for the awesome commentary ๐๐ #practicemakesprogress #onedayeventing #proud #thankyou #teamwork
