Dog owners try behaviourists, they try trainers, they try advice off google and the bloke down the road. It doesn't always help them. Has that been the case for you?
Every dog owner I have met loves their dog. Most will do anything for them. But I am willing to admit, I couldn't help all of them make the changes they needed to make, to help their dog.
So I tried IEMT on my dog clients!
You see I'm a Canine Behaviour Practitioner, but I'm also an IEMT Practitioner. IEMT is usually used for trauma and PTSD, but I didn't see why it couldn't be used to benefit dogs too.
Only a hand full of people in the world have tried what I'm offering so far. Would your dog like you to give it a go?
Here's a few examples of things I think this new method could help with*:
A dog that wouldn't put their harness on, to go on walks (even with months of fun training), starts walking every day.
A dog that barks on lead and in the house, starts paying attention to their owner instead of barking.
A dog that was too scared to go in the car, decides they'll give it a try and then progresses every day from there.
A dog that doesn't like being left alone, starts to act calmly when they see their owners getting ready to leave them.
IEMT stands for Integral Eye Movement Therapy and helps people process the emotions that might be influencing their dogs behaviour. For example, the dog that used to bark, was nervous because they could tell by their owner's body language, that their owner was nervous. When I helped the owner with their nervousness, the dog no longer thought it had to act that way.
This is new and exciting.
