Franklin ❤️ in for his Christmas de-shed and trim. Lots of hard work involved with these coats, and Franklin & his brothers are quite a challenge to groom due to their size, arthritis and dislike of being brushed. I always feel like I could’ve done a better job, but I have to get what I can done within a certain timescale to minimise their stress. Frank shared my lunch with me today 🍗😘

Boris 💕 (love the name!) the wire-haired daschund came in for what we think may have been his first hand strip today. What a little superstar! Hand stripping is a lengthy process which entails gently plucking out the dead coat bit by bit, to reveal the healthy new hair growth beneath. Well done Boris! All ready for Santa 🎅💕🐾

……and here is Pippa 💕 Neither of these girls are a fan of the clippers, particularly Pippa. Today’s session was much better, but as Pippa won’t tolerate the clippers on her legs, we have to scissor and blend into the clip. I forgot the ‘before’ photo until she was bathed and dried 🙈so here’s Pippa’s *semi* before and after 🐾

Trixie 💕 came in with her sister Pippa for an autumn spruce up. We keep her pretty head and whiskers, so her clipped coat is blended into her head to make it look as natural as possible. Here’s Trixie’s before and after 📸🐾

Bobby the Cockerpoo 💕 He’s staying with us whilst my mum is on holiday. He was well overdue a groom, so today was a big job!

Bobby is now winter ready - his big fluffy paws soak up all the mud and water so we keep him nice and short.

Benson came in for his regular full groom which for his coat type involves a big de-shed. Benson lost a lot of his upper tail hair due to a skin issue a few months ago, but it’s now starting to grow back nicely 😍💕🐾

Flossy 💕 I just love this fussy little girl. Still very fidgety around her ears so I couldn’t get the ideal finish, but at 9 months old she’s learning so well and has really grown up since her last groom! Well done Flossy ❤️ 🐾

Pippa 💕🐾 the Springer Spaniel came in with her sister for a full groom today. Their Mum wanted them nice and short for practicality. Doesn’t she look smart 😍

Taking the time to listen to the dog and go at their pace is very important to me. Meg was here for the first time, and is worried by unfamiliar noises, so the dryers will take her a little time to get used to.

Noticing Meg was worried whilst being dried on the table, we downed tools and had a little rest break. Meg was far happier and relaxed being dried whilst laid on the floor, so that’s exactly what we did. Slowly and gently.

Well done Meg, see you again soon! 💕🐾

Meg 💕 the super-pretty (and now super-shiny) Labrador came in for a de-shed.

Meg’s groom had to be adapted as it soon became clear she really wasn’t a fan of the dryers. We had a little rest break, then slowly and gently finished the drying on the floor where she was most comfortable.

Ruby the border terrier 💕 came in for a scissor tidy. She had a full hand strip a couple of months ago, but Mum & Dad like to keep her looking and feeling tip-top in between - she also smells lush now she’s been pampered in the spa bath, with a spritz of ‘Diva’ cologne to finish. You’re not a diva are you, Ruby?! 🤔💅😆💕

Little Bear 🐻🐾💕 the 4 month old Cockerpoo graduated from Puppy Groom School today! He has been super brave, and I think he’s rather proud of himself after his bath and tidy 🤩🐾

Flossy graduated from Puppy Groom School last month🎓🐾👏🏻💕 and today she’s had her first puppy groom.

She is an absolute delight, and it’s so rewarding as a Groomer to see her really starting to learn with things like sitting still whilst I scissor.

I’m a big believer in positive association and positive reinforcement. Which is why my treat jar is always topped up to the brim 😉😋

Olive was very pleased to tell her Mum how much hair she left in the salon this morning 😃

An absolute star as always 💕 had a snooze during her blow dry, followed by a game of ‘kill the vacuum’ (see video) 😆💕🐾

Roxy 💕 the miniature schnauzer came in for a full groom. Roxy’s ‘parents’ have kept her on a regular grooming schedule from being a puppy - which is amazing as she is so used to the grooming process now, making it less stressful for her. We had lots of cuddles afterwards! 🐾
