Did you know hydrotherapy is great for your pup to relax and allows them to be completely weightless in the water? 🐾
Heres Bless showing everyone how to float in style with Amy in the hydrotherapy pool we have here 🐶
Floating in warm water provides a lots of benefits for dogs, just as it does for humans. The buoyancy reduces the strain on joints and muscles, making it an ideal therapy for older dogs or those with arthritis. The soothing effects of water promotes circulation, ease tension, and aid in the healing process, all while your dog experiences the joy of weightless play.
So, if you're looking for a unique way to pamper your pooch or support their recovery journey, consider the wonders of hydrotherapy.

How well is misty doing! 🤩
Misty first came into the centre March 2022, for muscle loss on her hind limbs. Since then she has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in her left hind and undergone TTA surgery on her right hind following a cruciate ligament injury at the end of last year and restarted hydro again after this in feb 2023.
She has been loving her weekly hydro sessions to help gain the muscle around these joints and aid the recovery along with physio 🐾
If your dog has recently undergone surgery and you think hydrotherapy will be a great benefit for your dog please don’t hesitate to pop us a ring, message or email to get started🐶

Meet roxy the jug who is 9years old who has recently started hydrotherapy with us due to a dehydrated disc. Roxy simply jumped onto the sofa on Christmas day which caused full proprioception loss in her left hindlimb and 80% propreciotion loss in her right hindlimb. Unfortunately in Roxy's case her condition was not able to be surgically corrected. Therfore, after an initial 3weeks crate rest she started hydrotherapy in January 2023. Roxy progress since starting has been amazing she has gone from only being able to get around with the support of a sling to now walking without aid as you can see from her videos below. We love being able to help cases like Roxy and see them go from strength to strength.
No one likes those winter, wet, freezing dog walks, except maybe a few husky’s 🤷♀️🤣
Did you know that walking your dog in freezing conditions can cause joint issues to flare up, lumber tail, ice burn on paws and you also run into issues with salt and anti freeze (which can be deadly!) as much much more.
Why not swap a dog walk for a fun swim at our center! Not only is it lovely and warm in the facility, our water is kept at a toasty 30-32 degrees all winter, perfect for keeping your pup warm when swimming ☺️
You stay dry, warm and your dog is physically and mentally stimulated, meaning you have a quiet evening ahead!
After a swim they are thoroughly dried, and ready to head home!
We have a few slots this week that are available at short notice (for dogs already registered) to swim, and the last few next week for a pre Christmas paddle for newbies!
Just message the center to book in and save yourself (and your dog) a cold miserable walk!
Me and melissa were busy on Sunday hopefully be able to announce the exciting news soon 🤗
We are so happy to have been nominated again this year for this award if you could take the time to give us a vote we would really appreciate that if you visit www.dogfriendly.co.uk we are under the vets&wellbeing section and Yorkshire is our location thank you #dogfriendly

Here’s handsome Wookie on his 5th Treadmill session! Wookie started Hydrotherapy after extensive spinal surgery and is gradually starting to regain the use of his hind limbs again and doing amazing!! Well done to his Mum and Dad for all their hard work at home 🐾💕
Here’s gorgeous Anna doing amazingly well in her rehab following spinal surgery. She’s now walking most of the time and in the treadmill only needs support to maintain her balance! We are all so pleased with her amazing progress over a short space of time! We look forward to sharing more of her progress in the coming weeks! 🐾💕
We would like everyone to meet Max! Max began his Hydrotherapy journey 9 weeks ago. He was suffering from Ataxia (in-coordination of the legs) of unknown origin. The video below was taken in May of this year. When we first met Max he would fall over after a few steps and his legs just weren’t co-ordinating! Max is 9 months old tomorrow and in the video in the comments you can see the progress he has made in just 9 sessions! His Mum and Dad are very happy with his progress as are we!
If it’s too hot for our Hydrotherapist, its too hot for your dogs paws.
Here is a video of Maya taken during her session today. Maya started with us just over 3 weeks ago following spinal surgery after an accident she had that caused compression of the spinal cord resulting in hind limb paralysis. When Maya came for her first session she wasn't able to stand on her hind limbs but did have some voluntary movement at times. She has had intensive hydrotherapy over the last 3 and a bit weeks and is now able to walk again with support but also at times unaided. On her very first session in the treadmill the therapist had to do all the movement of the hind limbs for her but today she was doing it on her own with the therapists hands there for support and to aid her balance. Such a rewarding job we have to be able to aid in this recovery and see such amazing progress. Well done to her mum and dad for all the care they are giving her.
There is a video in the comments of one of her sessions at Wear Referrals from while she was recovering from the surgery. Her owner very kindly sent it to us so we can show the difference!!
