My background is in childcare, pregnancy and birth, before I had my own family, I was a childrens nanny for 13 yrs, and I have always had a facination for anything baby. When I had my first baby, and thereafter each subsequent baby, I was reminded of how little support there is for that period of time after your little one is born. That precious time, when you are left thinking.. "gosh what now?"
I was lucky, I had good support, however, not everyone has their sister, mother or extended family close by for support. It is here that I can help. In my role as a Doula (www.chrysalisbirthsdoula.co.uk) and BabyCalm teacher, I can offer one to one support for you and your partner for those early days, weeks and months. I can also offer workshops or classes where you will be able to meet with other new mums and get the support you need. The classes include Antenatal workshops, The BabyCalm 4 wk course for new mums amongst others. I am also delighted to announce that from August 2012, I will be offering ToddlerCalm courses and classes for parents of toddlers aged between 1 and 3 yrs. I am deeply passionate about supporting new parents, I think its so important that parents find their own instinctive way forwards and I can support that with information. Babycalm classes are all about supporting and empowering mums and dads, not telling them what they should or shouldn't be doing.
