…My partner and I were going on holiday. We were going fo

r 2 weeks and we really struggled to get someone to look after our cats while we were away. One of our cats, Milo has a heart murmur and gets really stressed when we put him in the cat basket, so taking him to the cattery wasn’t an option. We had also heard horror stories about catteries and kennels which put us off the idea. The only option we had was to leave our pets at home while we were away but finding someone that we could trust to do it was difficult and in the end we had to rely on a friend to come and stay at our house which wasn’t ideal. This got us thinking…

…All the way through our holiday in fact! We found that we weren’t the only people that didn’t want to uproot our pets and put them through;

Upsetting their routine
Taking them to an unfamiliar place
A huge amount of stress…
Whenever we needed to go away. So we decided to set up Pet Checkers and provide a range of services that are designed to not only make your life easier, but also keep you pets happy and less stressed. These services include; Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Pet Taxi and Large Animal Sitting and if you need some thing different, we can come up with a package to suit you. Coming up with the name for our business was the hardest part. We wanted something memorable and personal – yet professional and we decided on the name Pet Checkers. Something that made us nervous about leaving our pets at home was the thought of someone we didn’t know coming into or living in our home while we were away. Maybe you’re thinking the same? That’s why all Pet Checkers staff are fully DBS (formally CRB) checked so you can see that we don’t have any criminal records or any of that nasty stuff. We are also fully insured which means you have the piece of mind that if something doesn’t go according to plan, you and your pet are fully covered. All paperwork is available to view on request. Hello all,

It has been a while since we have posted on this page. We have been busy behind the scenes and making changes to our business.

We have decided to stop offering dog walking and pet sitting and concentrate on Dog grooming. There are many reasons for this, the main one is that Covid hit us hard.
