Ever heard of Equitation??? New equine pastime gaining huge popularity in the UK.

What is it...

Working Equitation comprises 3 phases –

Dressage, Ease of Handling, Speed and at International level, cattle penning (don't worry no cows involved in this session 😂).
The obstacles will help improve your communication with your horse, improve suppleness and straightness and it will build confidence within horse and rider.

Who can take part....
Anyone that is comfortable in the saddle and riding unaided. Suitable for adults and confident children.

Do I need my own horse to take part in this event...
NO!!! The event is taking place at Hewshott Farm Stables riding school so anyone can give it a go on our horses & ponies,

Starting at 11.30 and running until 1pm children enjoy fun pony care themed activities and ride all for just £60 . They are never just RIDING SCHOOL PONIES❤️🐴

One day you may move onto bigger, fancier horses, but never forget the school horse who made you, as without them, you wouldn’t be able to ride anything at all.

The patient soul that tolerated your bouncing while you figured out how to sit the trot.

The kind mare that didn’t walk off when you stumbled up the mounting block, trying to get your foot in the stirrup.

The sweet gelding that picked up the trot even though your body was telling him to do the exact opposite.

The saintly angel that never spooked, which was a dam good thing because your balance was precarious at best.

Too often we forget where we came from. We move on to the next chapter in our lives and say, “Oh my gosh, I’m learning so much! I’m going so far! I could never do this kind of thing on that old school horse!”

But infact you could, you were just not ready to do all these things back then.

But that school horse gave you the confidence to move forward. That school horse took care of you in all respects and allowed you to take the time you needed to find your way. You couldn’t have become the rider you are today without that riding school horse, always remember to love them unconditionally for our riding school horses are what help start your dream, make dreams come true and get you ready for those bigger dreams 🐴

Thank you all so much for your lovely kind words. It’s so nice to hear how much you all loved him ❤️💔

It’s with great sadness, that on Saturday morning, the ultimate legend that was Arthur, passed away.
He was always there to welcome our clients, often he would even ‘help’ with the mucking out, and was none other than the best pest control that there was to be.
I’m sure you can all understand he will be greatly missed 🐈‍⬛ 💔

For our older (7 yrs +) or more experienced riders that can walk, trot & canter unaided (or beginning to canter). Fun pony care activities and 2 riding sessions.

Pony Activity
For younger or less experienced or beginners age 5 yrs +. Riding lesson and pony care activities.

9th & 10th April 10.30 – 3pm £130
2 day Pony Club camp (non residential!)
Open to our Pony Club Centre members and non members. 10yrs + riders able to canter (or learning). For members there will be test training and achievement badges. In house test & badges for non members.

Walk out on ponies in the beautiful countryside to look for clues and follow the ribbon trail to find the Easter Bunny! No riding experience needed.

Our pony club quiz team went to the area 13 quiz qualifier today, and once again totally outshone themselves!! 5th place and in the ribbons again for their second ever quiz. Truly proud of how well these girls did today against an extremely talented bunch of pony club teams 🐴 🌟

Graduation Day on our first ever Wellbeing & Equine Handling Course! Some foraging and enrichment to finish off 6 weeks of getting familiar with ‘being’ around horses, mindfulness, practicalities, grooming and of course just having fun. More details about next years courses soon…

🤦🏼‍♀️ The farrier keeps telling us to keep the horses feet as dry as possible coming into winter, but blackjack has other ideas, he just LOVES paddling!! 💧

Exciting news for coffee lovers !!
This Saturday we have a coffee truck on site from around 11am - 1pm

(you might know Christine from Liphook train station) will be here to serve you all delicious and more importantly hot drinks. We will also have scrumptious tray bakes so save room for a yummy bit of cake to go with your coffee!
If all goes well we hope Christine will be with us most Saturdays.
