‼️ANNOUNCEMENT‼️ There will be no puppy or adult obedience training classes this coming Thursday 30th May 2024. This is due to trainers commitments elsewhere but they will be back to normal from Saturday 1st June, and ready to get all those pesky pups thinking again! Even though we have no class Thursday, Lynn and Sharon still expect everyone to be doing ‘homework’, proper task masters these two! We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the training class. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend! 🐶

With Easter just around the corner, why not spoil those doggies to some tasty treats to celebrate! Not all dogs like chocolate so here we have some alternatives: natural meat and fish treat bags and also some luxury dog biscuits, so something to tempt even the pickiest of pooches 🐶🍩🍪🍗🥩. On sale in our main reception from tomorrow, so pop in to get yours before they are all gone! 🐣🐰

Field Update: finally the water has drained and we can actually see grass again……. It’s been a very long winter for PR. It’s by no means perfect and we still be a long way to go to ensure the flooding does not happen again! We are going to be working with the local farmer to have some renovation works done of the pathway to the fields, which will enable us to reopen again and hopefully this time stay open! We will hopefully have another Daycare reopening update soon…… it might not be what we had before for the time being but we are definitely working on getting back there! We thank everyone for being patience at this difficult time! We have missed all our Daycare doggies! 🐶🐶🐶 watch this space for further updates!

It will help start the foundation skills every dog requires to live a well balanced life. It’s never too early to start on a training regime and it’s great fun too, and will help form and build bounds with the newest member of your family. Thanks to everyone who braved the wind and rain today and came to visit our Christmas event and Santa Paws! Santa has now gone home for a well deserved rest but will be back tomorrow and is looking forward to seeing some more doggies! Preparations for our Santa Paws and shopping event is well under way now, lots of things being built and organised.
We are hoping to completely transform our obedience hall and Summer house and make it Christmas overload! 🎅🏻🎄⛄️

Don’t forgot if you want to see Santa paws, contact our main reception and book a slot for either Saturday or Sunday, slots are going fast so be quick!

And if Santa paws is not your thing, don’t worry you can still pop along to our little shopping event, we have everything from a doggy pick and mix (all natural tasty goodies), coats, blankets and lots of Christmas treats and toys!!
We even cater for hoomans too……so all your shopping done under one roof!

I know a lot of people are asking when daycare will be back open, or for predictions on when the fields will be useable again, but as you can see we simply cannot answer those questions right now.
The fields are the same, or possibly even worse than they were 2 weeks ago when we closed daycare down.
The rain does not let up and the water has nowhere to go.
As you can see in the video the water is now almost to the top of the handlers wellies and these are conditions they simply cannot work in, it’s too dangerous!
To allow dogs to run/swim in these fields goes against everything the PR is about…….
We are monitoring the situation daily and will keep everyone updated with any changes, or any positive news, but for now guys daycare remains closed!!! Sorry 😢🐶

‼️DAYCARE ANNOUNCEMENT‼️

Unfortunately due to adverse weather which has been against us for a while now, we have had to conclude that daycare should temporarily close until the fields have had an opportunity properly to filter the water away. We will endeavour to keep this period as short as possible but ultimately it will depend on the weather.
The Hotel and other facilities are not affected!

We understand this is not what anyone wants to hear and believe me it has been a very hard decision to make. But the impact of the weather on the fields has been immense. No matter what we do to try to salvage some areas and deal with the flooding over the weekends, while the ditches are full and the neighbouring fields also flooded there is simply no where for the water to go.
This then means when foot traffic starts again on Monday with dogs and handlers having to use flooded fields, more and more mud develops and is churned up. The dogs leave us wet and muddy and this only causes customer complaints which can be hard to take when the handlers have been out in difficult conditions all day trying to ensure the dogs are properly and carefully exercised. We just cannot win in this situation.

We know this is not ideal for anyone as we know some customers rely on our services and as a business this is detrimental to us, as we do need to have an income, but we feel we have now run out of options to try to fix this issue, at this time of year in this wet weather. Rest assured we are investigating what steps can be taken to avert this occurring again in the future and will take necessary steps to, so far as possible address this issue.

Unfortunately we only have one indoor area and with up to 40 dogs in daycare and at times the same number of dogs in the hotel, it is not always possible to exercise all dogs at all times indoors.

The temporary closure will take effect from Friday 17th November 2023 and we will keep you updated on its reopening date, as and when we know it.

As part of our ongoing commitment to invest in and improve facilities at the PR (including the near complete installation of the solar panels), we will continue to try to address and rectify this matter as soon as possible. It is a priority to the PR Managers and Owners.

We apologise with all our heart to all our customers and hope you understand why we have to make this decision.

It’s that time again……. Muddy Season is here!

With all the torrential rain we have experienced recently it’s meant that our fields have flooded (along with all the surrounding fields in Hightown and little Crosby), flooded fields mean mud, mud and more mud!!!

Some of the fields are worse than others and some have escaped the flooding completely but the bad news is to get to the good fields we have to go through the really mucky ones 😬

We have tried a few things to rectify this issue but with the continuous rain it’s a thankless battle!
We have also consulted with the local farmer to see if they can help in any way…….so it’s a work in progress!
But this is farm life……

This will mean dogs will get mucky and wet whilst they visit daycare!
We do try our best to keep them out of the really mucky patches but some dogs just LOVE the mud!!!

We will try our best to wash them down at the end of the day but they may still be slightly mucky and a bit soggy……. We apologise in advance if they aren’t returned to you in the condition they arrive……. But what we can assure you is that they have still enjoyed their time at the Pawfect Retreat 🥰🐶

1st December is fast approaching and that means only one thing…….Advent Calendars to help us count down the days to Santa visiting 🥰

This year we are pleased to announce that we are stocking Natural Treats Gourmet Sausage advent Calendar.
Each calendar contains Turkey & Cranberry and Venison sausages.
Each sausage is made with British meat, grain free and contains no nasties!!!

Calendars are £11.00 each and available in our main reception.
We can also reserve calendars if you contact us direct and collection is from reception!

So go on spoil those doggies this year and treat them to an extra special advent calendar, you know they deserve it 😁🐶

‼️Customer Warning‼️

Due to our on going development works here at the PR, on 9th & 10th November we have been pre-warned that there will be excessive noise disturbance to the buildings of daycare.
Even the company doing the works have said the works will be ‘really noisy’ for the dogs.
So we aren’t just talking a bit of hammering and drilling, it’s heavy duty drilling, which will cause vibration too!

With this in mind we advice that unless daycare is essential on these two days, it would be a better idea to keep the doggies at home.
We do not want to cause unnecessary stress to the dogs but on those dates noise disturbance will not be avoidable.
For those dogs who have an anxious nature or stress easily, we think this would not be a great environment for them!

We apologise for any inconvenience caused!

Anyone wanting to cancel daycare or discuss this further please contact our main reception.
