Another case who has touched my heart, is little Levi. Levi is 8 yrs and is a Staffie X, before his second opinion by a specialist vet, Levi’s owners informed me they were originally advised euthanasia for this wee fella but they couldn’t bring themselves to go through with it.
When I first met him, he was sore, rather grumpy if you went anywhere near his lower back or hind limbs and had an ataxic gait.
He was referred for a second opinion and after seeing a specialist, he was diagnosis with IVDD. He then received the medication he needed, along with a conservative management plan. Within this plan, we have started his rehabilitation journey.
Levi has just completed his 6th session and this wee guy has come on leaps and bounds. He is bearing weight on both hind limbs, he is not knuckling over, the fur on his hind paws is even growing back. However, the most important part, he is such a happy wee soul. Honestly, the tail wags and excitement barks he lets out when he comes into the clinic is so heartwarming. I’m super proud of this wee guy and how far he has come already, we’ve still got work to do but he’s smashing it 💪🤩🐾
The after video unfortunately had to be taken in the clinic as it was rather stormy outside but hopefully you will see how great he’s doing with all his hard work 🩷🐾
