We are a veterinary laboratory based in Ceredigion, Wales promoting health testing of dogs, cats, horses and livestock, specialising in allergy testing for dogs, cats and horses as well as canine titre testing and progesterone testing (ovulation test for dogs). We have over 20 years experience in immunology and ELISA immunoassays. We run all of our laboratory tests on-site following GLP and strict SOP protocols.

QUESTION: When is the best time to scan my dog to confirm pregnancy?

The best time for scanning is 28-32days post ovulation. If you don’t know when she ovulated, use the date she was last mated.

This time is best as it reduces the possibility of a false negative and also the best time to try and count how many puppies she is having.
