SIMBA UPDATE: HE IS NOW SAFE!

Simba is now safely at South Croydon Animal Rescue, Purley. A wonderful foster carer who has been highly recommended by GSRE is coming tomorrow to make sure Simba gets on with his other rescue dog. Neutering has been arranged for Wednesday. All of the people who have offered Simba a new forever home will be contacted as soon as possible.

Apologies for tardy contact with those people who have offered a permanent home I have spent most of today trying to get treatment for a nasty and accidental bite from another rescue dog.

URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED!

Posting on behalf of a group of people hoping to save this young boy and South Croydon Animal Rescue

PLEASE NETWORK FAR AND WIDE.

Located in South Croydon.

This is Simba. We need a home or foster home for him by tomorrow evening. He is 10 months old, vaccinated and chipped but not yet neutered. Has been shunted around various members of a family who didn't know what owning a big dog entailed. Simba is said to be a German Shepherd/Tibetan Mastiff cross. I have my doubts as he is too small. He is very placid. He interacted well with other people including children and other dogs. Not known if he's cat reactive. Current owner reported some issues with barking at night and chewing things (common for puppies!) They are literally trying to hand him to every person who takes any interest in him and they have said they won't keep him beyond tomorrow evening.

In April Spain introduced compulsory sterilisation of cats by six months of age, unless they are registered as breeding animals. We are calling on the Government to tackle the crisis of homeless cats, by making neutering of cats mandatory by six months of age, except of licensed breeding cats.

Sadly Rocky's owners are being evicted from their home and are unable to keep her. We are looking for a permanent new home or a short term foster carer until a new home is found.

She is approximately 1 year old and very friendly and gentle. She is used to living with other cats and is also used to dogs. She is not yet neutered or microchipped nor has she been vaccinated. This will obviously need to be arranged before she goes to a new home.

Sorry I've been quiet for a while. Life changing decisions about to be made. In other news..

So. After nearly FOUR months those jolly di*****ds in the Metropolitan Police have finally dropped charges against me and 13 others. Good work you have really restored faith in the policing of our city. 👏👏

Now please kindly return our f*cking phones you muppets.

Needless to say we are now collectively appointing lawyers to pursue a group claim for wrongful arrest and compensation from our beloved idiots.

Everyone who cares about animals please sign and share this petition.

It is totally unacceptable that the Police can shoot dead any animal, particularly dogs, that they deem to be "dangerously out of control" as they did last month with Marshall and Millions. 🤬

At 100,000 signatures it will be debated in Parliament and stand a good chance of becoming law. If we can hit 1 million signatures it will send the strongest message possible to the Government that shooting dead any animal is totally unacceptable.

BERTIE IS NOW HOME AND SAFE!

Bertie, 14, went out on Sunday (28/05) and hasn't been home since which is very unlike him. He has hypothyroidism and diabetes so it's really important that he is found soon so that he can have his meds. He is neutered and microchipped.

Well I spent most of Saturday avoiding the coronation curtesy of the Metropolitan Police who decided to arrest myself and 13 other animal rights people at 10.30am who were attending an all day training course on non violent protesting organised by Animal Rising. We all spent at least 12 hours in custody. The charge was "suspicion of conspiracy to commit a public order offence at the Coronation." Yeah right we were arrested in Haggerston some 9.5 miles from Westminster so if we had any intention of disrupting it we would have been very late to the show. We were released on bail pending further investigation and had our phones confiscated presumably so they can have a very good snout at our activities and contacts. It may be weeks before I get my phone back.

Needless to say the previous working relationship I had with the Police has now been compromised so I have now lost any respect I ever had and have reverted back to form.

OWNER APPEAL
Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, SM5 2RP

On the evening of Friday 14th April 2023 I had the sad task of recovering a deceased cat from the above location. I was informed that it had been there all day and another neighbour said it was there the day before.

The cat is a calico cat, mostly white with black/brown and little bits of ginger across the back of the body. The underside including paws is all white apart from small patches of black on both rear paws. Most likely female.

Unfortunately not microchipped. The body is now safe at a vet's.

I spoke at length to Matt Atherton over the last few months and we are very grateful that he has been able get this case back into the mainstream media.

It's a great shame that all the so called authorities, the Police, RSPCA and the Royal Veterinary College, all seem to be happy that these cases are down to scavenging foxes! It's disgraceful that they allow the murder and mutilation of over 1,000 pet cats to go without proper investigation and it's an insult to all the owners who have lost a beloved member of their family in such an horrible way.

I today collected a male tabby cat from the above location. Looks like he's been in a bit of a fight. He's probably a year old maybe older. Not neutered or microchipped.

You can try and walk away from animal rescue but it never walks away from you!

Knock on my door yesterday afternoon and a neighbour basically dumped her 6 month old all black female cat on me because she'd seen cats on my window ledge and thought I might help because no one else would. She couldn't keep her anymore but didn't give a reason why so I didn't push it

She was in her dressing gown, smoking a spliff with her boyfriend in tow. I wasn't going to argue with her so naturally took the cat in.
You couldn't make this s**t up! 😂

Naturally she's not neutered, chipped or vaccinated so I will need to get this sorted before deciding on a permanent rehome.

She's very friendly and has been enjoying cuddles purring away in my arms. ❤️

Recently I have been drastically reducing the rescue work due to financial circumstances. However with the best of intentions it's impossible to completely walk away from rescue and I was happy to pay a small part in the rescue of over 2000 quail.

All credit to my good friends at South Croydon Animal Rescue who coordinated this rescue with several other rescues a fantastic example of team work!

When we arrived to help with this rescue I had visions of four of us running around with nets chasing the peacock like a Benny Hill sketch. Cue the music. 😂

Instead, thanks to heavy rain, the peacock had already decided to shelter from the rain in a summer house. He was therefore already trapped and it was probably the easiest bird rescue ever!

Sunday morning saw SC Animal Rescue Purley team up with LWP and SNARL to catch this beautiful peacock who had been making a bit of a nuisance of himself in the grounds of a nursing home. The torrential rain actually did us a favour as he was sheltering in a wooden building and was rather easier to catch than we had anticipated. He is now at sanctuary where he will have the company of other peafowl.

DECEASED RABBIT FOUND

Last night a deceased rabbit was found in a front garden in the above location.

It was a dark brown/black rabbit with white socks on all four paws. He was a young, unneutered male approximately six months old. There was no microchip.
