π€π€π€ for later... "Every fence is a perfect fence" π€£... except for a dodgy downhill dog leg further on ... lets hope shes listening π€
One of my lovely ladies have moved livery from (Grass to DIY stable) after much debate in
"What would be the best livery yard"
As I full well know it can be a complete headache.
Everywhere has pros & cons in which case you have to weigh up.... what is the most important thing to you and your horse?
We all have to compromise somewhere.
What is the most important thing to you and your horse? Where have you had to compromise? Would be really interesting to hear your views please comment below. π
In my opinion it is also the upmost importance to be surrounded by the right people.
So the day came to move Josh, I lent a hand and rode the boy. We decided to go old school no posh lorry but good old fashioned hacking!
I used to hack to local showsπ, hack to the shops π and even go and visit my nan on my pony.
So a mere 5.5 miles of country lanes was going to be nothing for this Welshy.
A positive, perfect way to settle him into his new surroundings π€
and today I had a super ride in the arena with a great selection of poles to use. ππ
Happy pole dancing looking forward to the next session. π
Thankyou Pippa for the video Novice 37a.
Little canter blip at the beginning...
Yay you want forward mum ha ha "what this forward!"
Mediums didn't happen.. but balance improving and forehand lightening.
Anya has the ability showing plenty on turf π¨ can rev up then π€£... but kind of shuts down between the white boards.
It will come π§‘
Judges comments "Attractive and active horse" did the judge not see the beads of sweat on my brow π€£π

πSetting Goalsπ
Having something to work towards helps us all keep motivated.
I always say "Think about your own personal goals and not to worry about other riders and theirs."
Meaning for both of you whether its fitness or setting yourself a challenge.
I love the online dressage tests and I have also found recently a style and performance jumping one! π±
Something for everyone even In-hand! Brilliant for owners without transport and you don't need an arena either.
Here is a small clip of Josh running through an online dressage test with myself (owners turn next time.... π) Just need to zoom in a little!
Results have just come in and Josh acheived
π 66.5% π
I have been working with Josh and he's lovely owner for a while now. Josh being an active minded Welsh needs something to think about regularly π

2nd time ever SJ and 1st time indoor competition.
Such a good girly, just watching video we need to go on a stride my aim to keep her in front of my leg and in an organised rhythm. I'm not prepared to chase jump off times yet. π
Little 4 year old at this stage backed and ridden away in 7-10 days. From settling into new environment, lying across, weight on back and riding away freely. Trotting lovely and forward and gaining balance.
I use alot of voice at the beginning of training especially with her as will potentially be a driving pony in the future and voice commands are very important.
NB I'd previously worked on ground at owners home before arriving so we had a good relationship.
Cheryl Davis Training Mind and Body
Love this video and pony thought i'd share.
I worked with this beautiful traditional pony from the very beginning.
Firstly I visited owners at home on a weekly basis until she was ready to be backed by myself.
Main aim produce a child friendly, un-flapable, confident pony! Future ride & drive β€οΈ
Who's having more fun in this session! π
Aim of ball β½
βPony learning to stand solid with distraction.
β Being confident with things behind and to the side, when in vision.
β All preparation before rider
What a day β€οΈπππ₯ππΎ
Birthday celebrations for me aka rider and trip out for super ginge horse today (Love's First Blush).
We rode our 1st affiliated British Dressage test, on a day ticket at Cobham Manor EC. Entries were good too! π
We came 1st with 67.23% β€οΈπͺ... very happy with that. Anya was super willing and happy girly π... head carriage is improving.
She felt so good today and a feeling our hard work is paying off.
Celebrated with Jackie with a cracking Bacon Tiger Roll... Yum x
Thanks Pippa Doran for dressage coaching.
We are also modelling our Matchy Dogs and Horses browband. π
#barefootdressage
Well today our first outing of the season...
Mmmm Anya the quietest chilled out horse at home and at other events became a sweating, fizzy, ginger mare 𧑠For the dresssage section.....
I had a good 45mins to warm up... lots of downward transitions... relaxing techniques.... Poof all out of the window!
We cantered down the centre line π...and she just managed to contain herself and a pull off medium walk!
Some how acheived a score of 34.5 π and a string of 7's
With comments of "obedient to canter" thats because all she wanted to do was bloody canter ππ€£π
I don't like to see her stressy but I think she only associates Chilham with jumping & galloping !
Ended up on a real positive she absolutely flew xc... I definitely need to go bigger next time.
She loved it and was super chilled out once she had a run.... π§‘π
No placings today but we have a plan moving forward as I don't like to see her that wound up... So on the look out for some arena SJ, Autumn Hunter trails and bigger tracks then perhaps we'll go back to some grass dressaging.
All in the name of FUN! π
Thank you to Jackie Taylor Anya's owner and Julie for the help on the ground, really appreciate your time x
A little video for proof of finishing x
Its a great feeling when you can start ticking of the job list... βοΈ βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
Here's a couple of stretches I incorporate in Anya's daily routine. Improving her flexibility and joint range.
Sorry not always in frame we are just getting used to the settings.
