As a reminder, our last training session before Christmas will be Wednesday 13th December, and we will be returning on Wednesday 10th January 2024.

As in previous years, Whatley Manor will be having a firework display to welcome in the New Year. They have let us know that they have requested quieter fireworks this year from the Cotswold Firework Company, but those in the Malmesbury area, please be aware and take the appropriate precautions for your dogs.

We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

For info: Whatley Manor will be having a firework display to welcome in the New Year. It only affects Malmesbury area dogs but will be fairly impressive (and as such rather loud).

We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

IMPORTANT: TEMPORARY CLUB CLOSURE.

Due to a number of local cases of Kennel Cough, the committee have made the decision to cancel the next 2 sessions to minimise the risk of transmission. We anticipate that classes will resume on the 7th of December. All subs paid will be carried forward to December.

Kennel Cough is highly contagious so please bear this in mind when out and about, and if you suspect that your dog has Kennel Cough, please avoid contact with other dogs.

Kennel cough is a respiratory infection in dogs caused by various bacteria and viruses. For healthy adult dogs, it is not normally dangerous and is likely to need no treatment at all.

Dogs & Fireworks

It is coming to that time of year again when people will start using fireworks, it is important that you and your dogs are ready for this. The dogs trust has some really useful resources, including sound therapy where you can play the sounds at a low level, gradually increasing the noise level to allow them to become accustomed to the sound. Check out their website for more information and access to the sounds records and information on how to use these - https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/dog-advice/understanding-your-dog/sound-therapy-for-pets

(Source: Wiltshire Dog Watch Newsletter)

Sound therapy can help your dog feel more comfortable with new and scary life noises.
