This means it has vitamins and minerals included (often, but not always, in a pellet) – so it’s not just a fibre chop. 🤓

In our experience, fortified chaffs are very often not fed according to manufacturers’ guidelines, meaning the horse or pony in question is likely to be missing out on essential nutrients, unless another source is fed alongside, at additional expense. 💸

✅ A fully balanced diet is important to provide all the nutrients required for healthy hoof growth, muscle tone and general well-being – even if they're good-doers! ✅

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? 🧐
Feeding a low calorie, low energy balancer, along with a chaff of your choice, is an easy way to provide a fully balanced diet in a much smaller volume, alongside forage.

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘃𝘀. 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿
Per day, an average 500kg horse would require either:
⭐️ 6 Stubbs scoops of a fortified chaff (around 3kg).

⭐️ 2 coffee mugs of Lo-Cal Balancer (500g) – with a few handfuls of chaff to add fibre bulk and increase chew time, without too many extra calories.
