Another one of 'those' National days...

No horsing around – today is an opportunity for you to be a good β€˜neeeiiigh-bor’ as it’s...

National Help A Horse Day! 🐎

This important occasion aims to raise awareness of the struggles that equines all over the world face and contribute to efforts saving them from cruel and inhumane situations.

We have been on the front line at dozens of horse rescues, seeing things I hope to forget from extreme neglect to problems caused by simple ignorance and horses loose on roads.

The plus side is seeing how these beautiful delicate animals can have their lives turned around and come out stronger, braver and trusting in people again.

No, I'm not asking you to go out and rescue a pony today but if you can do anything to help one, like drop a donation to your local horse charity then please do.

Sacks of feed and bales of hay also count!

Reusing a video of Spirit on her journey to her new home for this post.

The follower 'fanks' goes out today for this lovely sketch of Sue with Cody. This was sent to us along with another sketch from AGW, which we will share in the coming weeks too.

The photo was printed in one of the local newspapers probably or , but it's so long ago I can't remember. Happy to be corrected and apologies for not being able to name the photographer.

A really beautiful sketch, even before we saw the attached photo, we knew who the handsome pony in the drawing was.

Thank you

Today's gift from our followers is a beautiful painting of Gemma.

Not a horsey one but one of the workers. Gemma loves her job, helping us move the horses between fields or bringing them over for feeds, closer to catch for the farrier and various visitors.

This painting came all the way from Canada and is taken from one of the photos we have posted of Gemma...no doubt when she was climbing up the hay bales, checking their quality.

Wishing all of our friends and followers a very Merry Christmas.
Thank you for all of your support in what has been a very tough year.
May the festive period be full of fun, love and laughter, however you spend it!

Today, we played a game of who wore it better... Roi, Pickles or Tank? They hope it makes you smile!

Today we saw the beautiful Spirit head to her new loan home.
Spirit was an abandonment case, left to starve at the side of the road with another pony. When they first came in, the two were impossible to catch, covered in lice and full of worms.
With love, patience and the right kind of care Spirit has become one of the most loving ponies. Interested in everything and always the first over to say hello.
After a small false start when she didn't want to go into the lorry yesterday, she loaded into the trailer this morning and travelled safely to her new yard ready to start her education and training.
We wish you the very best of luck in your new chapter and can't wait to see your progress.

What a weekend!

The highlight being, the Cheeky Dennis and the very loving Dolly off to a new home.

Wishing Dennis (a previous abandonment case) and Dolly (one of the Warndon mares from the side of the road) the very best on their adventure. An experienced and knowledgeable home where they can enjoy special attention and look forward to bright futures.

Thank you for giving them a chance.

Dear friends,

We write this with a sense of urgency and great need for your help. Our founder, Sue who tirelessly works every day to ensure the well-being of the rescue horses, has recently broken her ankle, whilst on the farm. She snapped all three bones and her foot ended up facing the wrong way. The paramedics were brilliant and attempted a reset at the scene. She bravely passed out from pain to help make their job easier. Sue has had a stay in hospital following surgery to put her leg back together.

As a result, she is unable to work, do the horses or even get around.

The horses day to day care is taken care of. Our amazing volunteers have given us more of their time to ensure the horses are looked after every day. The physical labour needed to maintain the stables, feed and check on our beloved horses is all sorted they have barely noticed. A massive thanks goes to Claire and Bex in particular for their commitment.

The horses are still being fed hay, daily, as their main source of nutrition, while the spring grass recovers. We cannot stress enough how important it is to keep our horses healthy and well-fed. This in turn comes with its own expense and as many of you know much of Sue's earnings as a taxi driver fund the charities costs. For the next 8 weeks she will be unable to drive and we worry how we will fill the hole left by her contributions.

This is why we are turning to you, our supporters friends, family and fellow horse lovers, to ask for help us to raise the funds required to buy hay, short feeds, supplements and pay the field rent. Your contributions will go directly towards supporting our horses. 100% goes to ensuring the horses receive the care they deserve.

Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and helpful. We understand that times are tough for everyone, but we urge you to consider the importance of our mission and the well-being of our wonderful horses.

Please donate to our fundraiser, or even share it with your network, to help us raise the funds needed to provide our horses with the hay, feed and care they require during this difficult time.

We thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

Update on the funding appeal.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, liked and shared the post.

The tally stands at over Β£3000 (not 4 as I mistakenly say in the video).

A great relief to have this support and backing. It will certainly go a long way in helping with the rescue costs.

We have received your messages and I will reply in turn to everyone as soon as I can.

Thank you to Sam at Nero's in Great Malvern who has got a 'name the bear competition' set up in the coffee shop to help raise funds and she did this the day she heard about the accident.

The Oak at Staplow have pledged the donations from their upcoming quiz night (June).

Janet Jones is hosting a table top tack sale and donating a portion of the earnings from that.

Thanks again to everyone

Please support these local businesses and events so they can continue to support local charities like ours and others
