Nala’s story 🐾

Meet 6 month old Labrador puppy, Nala. Nala, usually a lively pup, had suddenly become very lethargic. After being instructed by their local vet practice to take her temperature, Nala’s owners Joy and Guy were told to bring her in straight away as it was very high.

After some investigation, Nala was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia (IMHA) – her body was attacking its own blood cells and a transfusion was urgently needed. Nala needed a total of five transfusions to keep her alive until her body began regenerating red blood cells. She was able to go home a few days later where she will continue her recovery over the next few months 🙌❤️

Dogs like Nala need other healthy dogs to donate blood so that it is always there in an emergency like this. If your dog is aged between 1 and 8, over 25kg, and fit and healthy they could be a lifesaver. Visit our website to learn more www.petbloodbankuk.org/dogs

Please think carefully when and where you walk your dog. Feel the pavement, would you like to walk barefoot on there?
Avoid during the day when the suns at its hottest.
Ensure plenty of fresh water is available and lots of shade.
This weather can be fatal for our furry friends. If it’s too hot for you then can you imagine what it is like for them! 🐶

We had a new arrival last week. This gorgeous boy wasn't coping at another rescue so we took him in so we can do some work with him ready to find his forever home.
Stan is around 3 years old and is a very sweet boy , he loves his toys and he has loved everyone he has met while he has been with us.
Stan is a massive puller on his lead and this is something we are working on with him but he is going to need a strong handler.
We don't think Stan has been socialised with other dogs which has sadly left him very unsure of them and he just doesn't know how to greet them and can be reactive when he sees them on walks.
Stan is looking for a forever home as the only pet and with no young children. He needs a family who will be around a lot at first to settle him in and get him gradually used to being left alone.
Stan would love a home with a secure garden and plenty of toys please. He travels well in a car, is toilet trained and needs a home that can give him plenty of walks 💙
