Puppy parties are back 🎉

So lovely to have puppy parties back ! We even had some special guest tonight ! Alix from Adventures with Alix came along ❤️we all loved all the puppy cuddles when they stayed still for 2 seconds 😂❤️

Sarah here from our Carnoustie practice - a friend of mine is looking for a 5 star home for their beautiful cat. Due to a change in circumstances they can no longer provide her with the lifestyle she needs.
She is looking for a quiet home with no children or dogs where she can be given the attention she deserves. Although an older cat at 16 she has no current health concerns and is neutered.

Raising 3 young beasts of his own ‘Big Jim Dozer’ and his practice have been serving the local community for many years

The Golf is an Angus based independent Veterinary Practice with their main surgery in Montrose and branches in Arbroath and Carnoustie- covering all domestic pets
 
Their vets have a range of experience and qualifications to ensure that your pets receive the most up to date and appropriate
treatment for any problems they may have.

They are strong believers in maintaining an excellent quality of life in all animals. A testament to this value came when their son, Marc, was operated on ‘in- house’ to alleviate a rugby induced neck injury. The surgery was a massive success with rumours of the miracle operation pointing in a return to the field for ‘Dozer’ to join his younger brother Kieks in the upcoming 24/25 season

Does your dog play with stones, or enjoy catching them ? 🐾

Let me introduce you to Harris who loves to do just that!

Unfortunately this is a case we commonly see in the vets. Throwing stones for your dog, or allowing them to play with them can mean that they can swallow them accidentally. Some even choose to swallow them!?

Harris started vomiting on Thursday evening. He became quite poorly very quickly and by Saturday was very lethargic, unable to eat and still vomiting.

He came in to see our vet Gillian and due to his history with stones and Gillian’s quick thinking, an X-ray was taken. As you can see in the image the stone had caused a blockage. Emergency surgery was required to save his life. Harris underwent an ex-lap surgery to remove the stone. He was then hospitalised for two nights.

Moral of the story Harris…don’t play with stones, also advice we would love all our patients to follow! Harris got away home today with a waggy tail and a beautiful new outfit to protect his wound. Thanks Gillian for saving this boy 💙

Staff dog Louie underwent castration today 💕 he was a star patient for his mum and even woke up wagging his tail! Here he is enjoying his post op food at lunchtime and recovering at home...now to keep him quiet for 10 days! Thank you to our vet Gillian 💕🐾
