It is extremely difficult for a dog to be cognitively aware while being emotionally out of control.

HELLO EVERYBODY!

We’re going to close this page down in a week or so. The idea is to merge everything to do with Rosie’s books and her work onto a single page, so we’re asking everyone – COULD YOU MOVE TO THE NEW LAIDBACKDOGS PAGE? Here it is: https://www.facebook.com/LaidBackDogs
If you’re not already registered there, please do so, as there are a lot of updates on the way and new info about Rosie’s books.
Thanks, and love,
Rosie and Colin

This is a recent touching review from someone who read my new book - The tale of a BIG dog so I thought it would be nice to share it here:

"I have a very sensitive dog and this book helped me loads, creating a much closer shared bond even more so. I actively listen to my boy now to understand what he wants, needs and dislikes. Even down to the way in which I cuddle him has changed. He would often get up and leave because it was too much, now I can sit gently by his side and wait for him to snuggle in. He tells me where he wants to walk and if he wants to sniff a blade of grass of ten minutes then now this is what we do, it’s his time after all.

The story of Rosie and Hagrid is beautiful and heartfelt. I wish everyone would take their time to carefully listen and support their dogs because to me they are family and when you work together you can become even more of an amazing team.

Rosie is truly an inspirational and insightful dog behaviourist. (More a case of human behaviourist, as it’s what we do that matters) I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a dog in their life.://thetaleofabigdog.com/"

FINALLY! After a couple of days’ frustrating delay, waiting for Palletline to locate a truck small enough to fit up our lane, while the books sat in a loading bay in Oswestry, Rosie’s new book arrived from the printers. It’s a bigger book than Understanding the Silent Communication of dogs – 217 pages and coffee-table size. It’s been years in the creation! Hope you think it’s worth it.
We’ve created a page for it, and it would be fantastic if you could give this a ‘like’: https://www.facebook.com/The-Tale-of-a-Big-dog-111708231147014

The website for the book is a work-in-progress, but it has ordering facilities, both on the site and on Amazon. It’s MUCH better for Rosie if people order from the site: https://thetaleofabigdog.com/

For everyone who’s been so supportive while Rosie battled her way through this, writing and rewriting, a VERY BIG THANK YOU! We can’t list you all on here, you know who you are. Suffice to say that the Acknowledgements section of the book runs to several pages.

Could you do us a favour and share this post? Self-publishing and self-marketing only really works if friends help out.

Thanks and Love,
Rosie & Colin

妻子,书和狗 (that's Chinese for wife, book, dogs) :)

So, after a bit of a delay, some Author's Copies of the Chinese (Taiwan) edition of Understanding the Silent Communication of Dogs arrived in the post today. The quality of the book, the printing, the artwork, the typesetting is absolutely magnificent. Many thanks to Fang-En Tsai and Joeson Hsu for all their hard work in getting this translated and published!!

Today, July 20th 2013, is a day that will go down in history. Rosie gave her first-ever public presentation, in Meriden. The talk lasted for four hours, included many video clips demonstrating various aspects of Canine Communication to a sizeable audience comprising dog owners and trainers and, as it turned out, went down very well. She's available for weddings and barmitsvahs. :)

Understanding the silent communication of dogs

It's imminent! Rosie Lowry's new book comes out in a few days' time!

Your dog is trying to communicate with you using the only system he has. Few of us know how to “listen” to what their dog is trying to say to us.
