Unless I can get some sort of permit, bus gates on Marston Ferry Road would make it almost impossible for me to collect dogs from north Oxford for walkies. I'd probably have to abandon the dog walking side of my business and just do boarding and daycare for dogs who live in my part of town

2,498 signatures are still needed! Stop bus gates on roads outside of the centre of Oxford (Hollow Way & Marston Ferry Road)

❌ RAPESEED! ❌
It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called r**eseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!
Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.
Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:
❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems
Even walking through these fields should be avoided!

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of r**eseed poisoning.

I think Benji and Monkey could have played this game all day. You need the sound on to appreciate the full joy.

Dogs need to be exercised off lead, in a nice safe place, with lots of other dogs, if they are to socialise properly. This is really important for puppies. If they are let off the lead as soon as they are old enough to be walked, they don't run away because the world is a bit of a scarey place - and so they keep touching base with their owner. Recall can easily be taught to young puppies because they want to come back often for reassurance, praise and cuddles.
I met a sweet little 8 month old cockapoo whilst out in the meadows the other day. She wanted to play with all the other dogs (I had 5 and my friend had 3 - all very friendly) but her owner was scared to let her off the lead. She had been told by a "qualified" dog trainer not to let her off until she was 10 months old because she was "nervous". 🤯 We pursuaded the owner to let her off and she had a lovley run around - she wasn't at all nervous once she was free to run as she pleased. The owner said this could be a life changing experience. Happiness for a young dog is a run around with new friends.
