Well after running my own kennel since December 1976, the time has come for Dave and I to hand over the reins to the next generation.
My Nephew Keith Glass & his lovely wife Mandy will be taking over the running of Cranstoun Kennels on 1st February 2025. Keith was brought up at Cranstoun and helped in my greyhound kennels as a child. He has been a dog lover all his days and I’m confident that the kennel will be run in exactly the same way as it always has. Keith’s daughter Niamh has already worked in the kennel for in excess of 3 years so she knows all the dogs and their needs. All the bookings that have been made already for 2025 will be honoured and I’m sure the dogs will have just as much fun as always.
Dave & I intend to finish up on 31st December & of course the kennel is closed for the month of January as usual.

Just a quick post to remind all customers that we have a very strict routine with the dogs, cats and horses here. We have various tasks to complete at set times each day and we would respectfully request that customers please arrive strictly within the timeslots we allocate, for either dropping off or collecting your dogs or cats. So many people have been arriving late or outwith the allocated timeslots offered.
We try to accommodate peoples requests but we also have planning conditions to adhere to and we are not prepared to jeopardise our license or business because people cant arrive on time.
I would like to thank most of our customers who always arrive on time but remind the ones who don’t that we will not now be admitting or releasing dogs or cats outwith the correct hours which are as follows;
Monday to Friday between 9/11 am or 4/6pm
Weekends 9/11am only
Also please bear in mind if you have paperwork to complete, special instructions to give or if your pet requires another meal imminently , please leave enough time to deal with same before closing time.
We look forward to seeing you again soon with your pets

It was Leo’s birthday on Saturday so this was me singing Happy Birthday to him (so badly I turned the sound off)/ think he thought I was mad and just wanted to play with his ball 🤣

A wee heads up for customers coming from the Dalkeith area, the road through Whitehall & edgehead will be closed for the next 4 weeks. You’d be better coming past Fordel Service Station and follow signs for Jedburgh until you reach the B6372 signed for Vogrie / Gorebridge that will bring you to the crossroads
