Tyrion is doing so much better and has gained so much weight!

Due to his neurological issues, we have decided to keep him here as a resident. He struggles to eat at times and gets discouraged when he misses the feeder insects off the tongs.

Because he has been doing so well, we made him a custom background with some low climbing opportunities, which he has been enjoying and managing very well! We have also put him on substrate, and he has been enjoying digging around a bit and making himself at home ❤️

We want to give him the best life possible, whilst being considerate to his disabilities

We have rescued over 200 animals!! 🎉

As a small rescue, this is a huge accomplishment, and we really appreciate everyone who supports us and helps make this possible!

We have been able to show love and care to over 200 misunderstood and often mistreated animals, and although it is hard, we are so grateful to have been able to help every single one ❤️

New rescue:

Meet Humphrey the approx 5 year old, male, horsefield tortoise!

Humphrey was found as a stray and was handed into one of our local veterinary hospitals. They tried to find his owners for 7 days, but nobody came forward.

His shell has unfortunately been painted, we are assuming from his original owners :(
We managed to remove most of the paint gently after soaking him in the bath and using a soft toothbrush.

He is such a sweet and very active boy! He has enjoyed gentle shell and head rubs ❤️

! Please never ever paint a tortoises shell. It can be toxic to them and can hinder their ability to absorb necessary vitamins from the sun or UVB bulb !

On Monday we received a call regarding a hedgehog behaving abnormally and was out during the day.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, so seeing them out during the day is often a sign of illness or injury!

We took the hedgehog to the , who we often work with regarding calls about hedgehogs.

is a charity that does incredible work saving hedgehogs lives, and protecting their wild populations every day! 🦔

If you see a hedgehog in need of assistance, give us or them a ring! Help protect nature and these incredible animals ❤️

Dylan has been enjoying the wonderful weather today!

Dylan is searching for his forever home! He needs a family that will treat him like the king he is ( hand feed him his veggies ).

Dylan is such a sweet and gentle boy! He is a lazy bearded dragon, but occasionally enjoys climbing on his enrichment and going in the garden ❤️

He did not have the best start to life, so really deserves to be adopted into a good home :)

Unfortunately, due to a few recent vet bills, the rescue is struggling financially to stay open; and we would absolutely hate to temporarily close our doors to animals in need.

Rest in peace my sweet sweet baby 🌈

The wildlife trade and humans were so unkind to you, but I hope you felt love in your last few months with us, because we really loved you ❤️

Daryl seemed to be doing so much better, but unfortunately tonight he took a turn for the worse and was unable to walk. After rushing him to the emergency vets, xrays showed us that he has multiple fractures on all legs, his spine and his ribs.
He was in a lot of pain, so we made the incredibly hard decision to put him to sleep.

We will miss him always, it was an absolute pleasure and blessing to be able to care for him ❤️

To say we are heartbroken is an understatement

Newest rescue!
Meet sunflower, the 3yrs old, female, snow corn snake!

She is honestly one of the most beautiful corn snakes we have seen, the photos don't do her justice!

She is a bit small for her age, this is potentially caused by her being housed with a male and laying eggs when she was not big or old enough to.

She will be searching for her forever home after her quarantine period ❤️

Daryl update:

A few months ago we took in Daryl, a 1 year old Bosc monitor. He was unable to eat due to having MBD (metabolic bone disease), which made his jaw rubbery.

After a few weeks of syringe feeding and oral calcium, as Daryl grew, his jaw became stronger! He now eats a variety of feeder insects and enjoys chasing them around!

He is small for his age, due to his poor start in life, but he is slowly gaining weight and has gained 60grams since his arrival!

He is such a sweet boy and we are going to keep him here as a resident due to his personal care requirements, and his species requirements ❤️

Tallulah is doing so much better!

She is consistently gaining weight and is almost at her goal weight! Her eyes are staying pretty clear and we have only had to clean them out a few times since our last post!

She still squints her eyes slightly, and the cyst under her right eye actually caused a hole, from under her eye to under her lip; it sort of looks like a piercing! We have had to help her remove stuck shed from the hole, but otherwise, she's doing great!

We are so proud of her ❤️

Willow is searching for his forever home❤️

Some of you may recognize willow as a leopard gecko we rescued over a year ago. He arrived to us in an awful state, and after many months we were able to rehabilitate him! The last photo shows him before and after his rehabilitation

He was adopted, but was returned to the rescue a few months ago from no fault of his own. Upon his return we noticed he had gotten a bit chunky, so he has been on a diet for the last couple of months. He has lost a few grams and we are much happier with his weight now

Tallulah update!
This gorgeous girl is doing so well with her recovery! She has opened both of her eyes now and is consistently eating and gaining weight!

2 out of 3 cysts have completely healed and have not returned, the larger cyst has appeared twice, but is becoming smaller in size with each clean.

We are so proud of how hard she has fought to get here, and we can only see her improving moving forward. We are still occasionally cleaning her right eye, but her left eye has fully healed!

Newest rescue!
Meet Bruce the 5 year old, male, super giant leopard gecko!
He is a big boy, weighing in at 115grams!
He is the largest leopard gecko we have had at the rescue and he is so lovely!

He will need to complete a 2 week quarantine period, and then he will be searching for his forever home ❤️

Tallulah update!
We have been cleaning her eyes out daily, giving her liquid critical care food and medicine and it's slowly paying off!

Her mouth rot has almost completely healed and her little teeth are starting to grow through! She has gained weight and shed last night.

Today we were able to remove more pus and cysts from her eyes and face ( photo 4 shows a bit of what we removed today), and she was able to open her eyes the most she has so far. She does only keep them open for a short period before closing them again, but this is huge progress!

She isn't out of the woods yet, unfortunately new cysts and pus are appearing daily due to her hypovitaminosis A. We are hopeful that once she is no longer deficient, the cysts should stop ❤️

Luna has been adopted!
Luna arrived to the rescue in February of 2022, a year later she was adopted. She was unfortunately returned to the rescue in December 2023. Our wonderful friend and volunteer started to foster her a few months ago but has fallen in love and has decided to keep her and give Luna the forever home she deserves!

Luna has had a really hard start to life. She was being kept in a tiny rub without water or a hide for 2 years and arrived to us extremely malnourished, dehydrated and on the brink of death; but look at her now! She will always be a smaller female royal because of her past, but she is so so happy and is finally getting the love she deserves

We are so pleased and can't thank enough for giving Luna a home where she can feel safe and be loved ❤️

Tyrion update!
Tyrions recovery has been going so well, he has gained 24grams so far! He still needs to gain more weight, but it is so lovely to see him grow and fill out.

He is such a friendly boy who will run towards the front of his enclosure for choice based handling ❤️

Tyrions genetics causes neurological symptoms that unfortunately affect him. It mainly affects his coordination and can make feeding time difficult. He often misses bugs off the tongs and gets seemingly frustrated and gives up eating that night. He often walks around in circles and struggles with his balance. His quality of life is still good and we will keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't deteriorate.

We will be the first to admit that he is a gorgeous boy, but we absolutely do not support the breeding of this morph and the unnecessary pain it causes these animals.

Newest Rescue:
Meet Peach, the 2 year old, female, albino hognose.
She is so friendly and cute!

She has "bug eyes" this is a defect that causes the eye to become enlarged. It is commonly seen in albino snakes. It doesn't appear to cause any health concerns, it just makes her eyes big!

Regardless of whether it causes health issues or not, the specific breeding of this defect should not be supported

She will be available for adoption after she completes her 2 week quarantine ❤️

Daryl the Bosc monitor update!

Daryl arrived to us with a soft jaw caused by MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease). He did not receive the correct lighting or supplements in his previous home. This caused him a lot of pain and although he was so hungry, he couldn't eat!

Along with giving him correct husbandry, we started syringe feeding him critical care food, pain killers and oral calcium supplements until his jaw started to feel stronger.

He now enjoys chasing after and eating his bugs and has gained 20grams! It is so wonderful to see him doing well after being so lethargic ❤️

*It is important to note that MBD symptoms can't be reversed in adult reptiles, the symptoms can stop progressing with correct care; however as juveniles are continuing to grow, there is a chance it can be reversed and their bones can harden*

(Daryl is currently shedding, hence the skin on his head)

Tallulah has surgery this morning to remove the abscesses surrounding her eyes. This was a successful surgery with our exotic vet being able to remove all of the pus from the abscesses and her eyes!

The third photo shows some of the hard lumps removed from the abscesses, there was double this amount of pus inside her eyes.

She is looking so much better already! There is still a lot of Inflammation around her eyes, but she has already started to try and open them. What a fighter this little gecko is!

As a non profit, we run completely out of pocket and with the support of the odd donation we received here and there. We are currently struggling a bit for funds and with so many rescues to feed and give medical care to, we would be so appreciative for donations towards her veterinary care ❤️
