Mays Horse of the Month is the cheeky Splash 💦

She's got sass in bundles and knows what she wants and when 😂😂 She's hugely popular with our experienced clients and has endless energy 😊

Her interesting fact is that she qualified for the Royal International Horse Show in a previous home and is beautifully schooled. Her birthday is assumed to be 1st January every year as the exact date wasn't recorded.

You will normally find her on the yard itching her butt on her tie up post 😂

🎺 Biscuit has an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🎺

We absolutely FLEW through our licence inspection this week!! 💪💪

We had a new inspector this year who was so complimentary! Fantastic comments about how happy and healthy the horses are, how clean and well fitting the tack is and how tidy the yard is. This wouldn't be possible without the wonderful staff who work tirelessly to keep the yard and horses in tip top condition! ❤️

So we continue to be a 5 🌟 licensed hacking centre!

The staff took some of the horses on a New Forest adventure this week 😊

They boxed up to Bashley and took them for a paddle in the river, a Gallop across the green and a pub lunch 😍

Indie very LOUDLY introduced himself to all the new forest ponies and foals 😂

As we are getting busier and busier now, please book your next ride WHEN YOU CHECK IN BEFORE YOUR RIDE.

We have lots of regulars waiting to rebook AFTER their ride when I'm extremely busy with the next ride and trying to do safety speeches and brief staff. It isn't practical for me to go back to the office.

April's Horse of the Month is.... 🥁🥁

The lovely DORA 😍😍

Dora was the very first riding school pony I purchased when I was setting up the yard so she has a special place in my heart ♥! She is the most lovable rogue and is often found itching against a tree (with the rider onboard 😉😂) She is however as safe as houses and an absolute pro at the beginner rides! She is brilliant with nervous and novice riders and a fabulous leadrein pony! Dora's fun fact is that she cannot canter 🤷! We've put it down to her past as a driving horse where they teach them to pace and trot fast without breaking into a canter. She will even trot really fast to keep up with her friends in the field of they are having a play instead of cantering 😂
Her birthday is 21st May and she absolutely LOVES all snacks and treats! ♥️

Easter holidays..... Completed it 🙌🙌

We've had all 4 seasons, often all in one day!! 😂

A Saddler, a Physio and a Horse all walk into a yard 😂

The horses have all had their routine 3 monthly saddle adjustments and physio appointments.
It's so wonderful to have such dedicated professionals working together to keep all our horses happy and healthy ❤️
Our saddles are fitted and adjusted by MSL Equine and Physio is carried out by Westrise Veterinary Physiotheraphy. We are so grateful for their hard work.

The rosettes sell soooo quickly! We thought it would be children wanting those but they are really popular with the adults as a silly gift after the ride 😂

This month's second Horse of the Month is.......... Marley!! 😍

This absolute hunk has been with us a couple of years now. He's a stunner and he knows it 😂

Before life at Eastmoors he was with a lovely family that hacked and schooled him. He first joined us as a livery before becoming part of the crew! He will look after a little person on a leading rein or give an experienced rider a good zoom around the plantation! The staff love riding him and sneaking him on staff rides to Moors Valley!

His birthday is the 1st May! He loves carrots, apples and satsumas! 🍎🥕🍊
His teeth aren't the best and need regular cleaning every couple of months to prevent gum disease so we try not to give him tooooo many treats! 😂
He also LOVES being hosed off! He will drink the water from the hose as you spray him 😍

Routine physio with the absolutely wonderful Emily Davies of Westrise Veterinary Physiotheraphy!

Here is Marley thoroughly enjoying his session! Regular physio keeps all the horses comfortable and happy with their work. It loosens any tight areas and identifies any problems before they start to affect the horse. They also love the pamper hour! 💕

With all the excitement of organising the tack sale and raffle we totally forgot the Horse of the Month feature!

So we will have TWO horses featured for March 🙊😆

First up is HOWIE 🦄🦄

He's FULL of character and has the biggest sense of humour 😂! He's had an exciting life competing at dressage and jumping, he featured in the Queens Royal parade in London and he loves to go swimming (be that on purpose at a large pond in the New Forest or because he's jumped the fencing and got into our river!!) His birthday is the 15th March and although he'd love a big carrot cake, he has a form of Equine diabetes so we have to be very careful with his sugar intake! He's an absolute unicorn of a pony and will take children quietly or step it up a gear with an experienced rider. 💕💕

New shoes!!

We have the fabulous James Kirkby here every single week to shoe our horses. We have a lot of gravel paths here so all of our horses have shoes on to protect their feet from the stones.

It's a totally pain free process a bit like trimming your finger nails! They all have their shoes changed between 4 and 8 weeks depending on how heavy footed they are! Biscuit and Indie stomp through shoes a lot quicker than Bandit and Bailey do 😂

It's the time of year I hate again, when I need to increase the price of the Forest Riding 😓

As everyone will well know, absolutely everything has had a steep increase in price from hard feed and hay to the new wage increase coming.

The NEW forest ride prices are listed below and will come into effect from Monday 24th March 2024.
We will continue to offer the package deal with the 5th ride being half price. 😊

🦄 It's our Anniversary 🦄

7 years ago I had the hare-brained idea to set up a riding school from scratch AND build a livery business alongside it!

To say it's been back breakingly hard would be an understatement!! There have been tears and tantrums but also a LOT of laughter and fun!! I've met many friends I'll have for life and I have a wonderful bunch of clients that support me week in week out ❤️

So here's to the next 7 years of madness 🤪🥂
