A subtle but effective before and after using a spinal brace from Lil Back Bracer for IVDD patient Buster 🌟

Daisy insists that tummy scratches before hydro are ESSENTIAL 💁🏻♀️🐾
Swimming into the weekend is speedy Endeavour working on her fitness! Can you believe this video is in ‘slow-mo’?! 🚀🐾💦
A promising progress update for Arthur who has been non-weight bearing on and off since November following a cruciate injury. Arthur underwent surgery back in January to stabilise his knee however, hopping around became a persistent habit! In just under 5 weeks with a mixed programme of physio, hydrotherapy and dedication to homework, Arthur is consistently using the injured limb and building considerable strength back up ⭐️🐾

Name a better sound than a happy Labrador tail 🐾
The sun is shining at the clinic today for the end of another busy week ☀️
Views from above and below with the fabulous Floyd 💦🐾
Trigger came to us last month for rehab following a cruciate surgery which resulted in a post-op complication, delaying his recovery. He was very sore and generally a bit unhappy, but after just 4 weeks of treatment, he has made excellent progress!🌟

We promise some Staffy’s DO love swimming … Zac is one of them ❤️🐾
Meet the lovely Lottie 🐕❤️
Lottie joins us here at Nadder Valley Animal Rehabilitation for regular swims to help keep her fit and strong.
Here she is wearing her very practical ear protection to help keep them dry.
We think she looks very fashionable but her look says otherwise 🤔
Dolly certainly doesn’t let her hindlimb amputation hold her back 🏆
We loved looking back at this footage to analyse how Dolly compensates to keep her body stable and efficient in the water 💦
Swimming for the tripawd is an excellent form of exercise. It provides relief to the remaining limbs, removing weight and ground reaction forces whilst keeping those muscles strong, helping Dolly stay active for longer!
Testing out the underwater camera with the lovely Timmy ⭐️

Meet Bertie a 12yr old black lab, he was referred to Pet Waves as he has osteoarthritis with suspected spinal involvement along with elbow & hip dysplasia. On initial assessment at the centre Bertie was unable to stand/walk on his hind legs unaided.
Bertie has had 4 hydrotherapy sessions along with physiotherapy exercise prescription, some of which I carry out in the pool while he is resting (this is the beauty of having a physio in the pool with him) & some is homework for his owners.
I am still always amazed by the results & it brought a tear to my eye when Bertie came in on Weds for his session being able to walk pretty much on his own & was able to get himself up from sitting/lying down position. The video below is the day after that hydrotherapy session, he is now walking about on his own! Still some work to do but excellent progress.
It means so much to give Bertie a quality of life back & so he can continue to be part of his family, great team work well done everyone 🐾🐾🐾
Thank you Manor Farm Vets for the referral

Part 3 - Archie has been treated now for a couple of weeks & has made great improvements. He is quicker on his walks & even ran the other day. He is much more active at home & wants to be involved, he has a new lease of life. His movement is much smoother & not so much effort with less stiffness 🐾

Archie - part 2 this was Archies first hydrotherapy session with Amy. You can see him really extending & using his forelegs which is great & really helps to improve his joint range of movement. His hind legs will need some help as not really fully using them m, but we just wanted him to get in the pool & ease his stiffness, gain some pain relief & have some mental stimulation as he LOVES this! 🐾
Part 1 - Archie has been treated here at Pet Waves to help with an old shoulder soft tissue injury which causes him intermittent lameness along with a suspected cranial cruciate ligament rupture in a hind leg. Archie is 12 & quite arthritic.
After gaining clinical notes & taking a full history from his owner Archie received the following as part of his physiotherapy assessment:
💜 A gait analysis to look for abnormalities, asymmetry & overall mobility.
💜 Palpation of musculature to identify any tight areas, spasms, trigger points & muscle groups not being used effectively.
💜 An individual tailored treatment plan
💜 Treatments that included massage techniques, electrotherapies & specific stretches
💜 Exercise prescription to improve functional ability
💜 Adjustment if his home environment
💜 Advice & recommendations for his owner
💜 Report of findings back to treating vet
Archie has been treated with both physiotherapy & hydrotherapy. Below is Archie at the beginning of his journey 🐾🐾
