Last week was full of fun with rovers in very autumnal weather.

After the hectic summer of dog walks (sorry for no photo updates) and holiday breaks I am finally back to normal routine .
This Dog Can is back with regular walks in very autumnal weather, which came very suddenly.
Our first week of September walks was filled with post summer reunions with pups. It is safe to say we were all overjoyed to have each other back and spend some time together. Few snaps from our first September adventures.

Nosework Games Level 2 in Unstone results.
What a wonderful and sunny Sunday.
We had a new game to play Distance which surprised many handlers in a positive way, definitely more experienced dogs were excelling. And as for younger dogs: we got new training ideas 😁

Fun and games in the rain and sun during the last 2 weeks. Rovers got wet in the summer rain or Sheffield streams to cool down.

Nosework Games Level 1 in Unstone
It's been a challenging Nosework Games test for... the humans. The dogs, as usual, were in top shape, but today's games were designed to test the handlers.
We had easy finds, but they were in locations that weren't on the handlers' radar, while the obvious spots were intentionally overlooked when placing the hides.
Today's motto: Let the expert canines work their magic and have trust in them. You've all trained hard enough to know your dogs are superstar sniffers.

My holidays finished last weekend and this week we resumed walks with rovers. It was so lovely to see everyone after a 2 week's break. We had lots of fun and the big rains somehow always came after the day of walking. Success!

Today I have officially finished regular dog walks for 2023.
And the last day was very, very windy and wet :)
Time for a Christmas break to recharge batteries and spend some quality time with family.

Our November adventures in pictures, from beautiful sunny 🌞 days, through rain ☔ and to the first snow ❄️ of the season.
We had so much fun exploring, playing in the leaves, finding muddy puddles to splash about ( somehow it's only girls, boys prefer to keep themselves clean 🤣)

Short week of walks as I am going to do some learning this weekend. But here is a little recap from the last 3 days. Safe to say young squirrels 🐿️🐿️🐿️ were providing lots of excitement for some pups (no squirrels were harmed during walks 😊)

What a beautiful week for walks last week, not too cold 🥶, not too hot 🔥
We enjoyed Sheffield's parks and countryside with a bit of a splash in clean rivers for some.
It was gorgeous!

Our last (very short because of bank holidays) two weeks of walks with rovers. The weather was hit and miss with rain but these dogs don't mind a bit of a rain, for some the more mud the better 😁
And beautiful bluebells are back in the woods, my favourite few weeks of spring, walking through gorgeous blues!

What a fantastic day of scentwork fun during our This Dog Can SCENTWORK UK Level 1 trial in Unstone.
We had a beautiful sunny day, some amazing teams and great judge.
It was so lovely to see all the teams enjoying themselves.
We had a good mix of experienced teams as well as few teams who just starting their trial journey. And boy everyone did so well! The battle for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place was decided by 2 and 4 seconds difference - very tight race!
We had 13 qualifiers, 7 teams with full marks , 9 clean sweeps and one team gaining Excellence!
Huge congratulations to all!

This week was a short one, unfortunately snow days meant schools were closed, roads were slippery so I didn't get to play with rovers in the snow at the end of the week :(
But on a positive note my own old girl got to play in the snow with me many times :)
