🐾 Meet our wonderful star of the week, Ned! 🌟Ned, the charming pup with a heart of gold, stole our hearts this week when we went to look after him at his home. Despite not having his owners stay away all that often he proved to be an absolute gem! 🐶💎 During our stay, Ned didn’t just enjoy his walks; he went above and beyond by being a true helper around the house. He has formed a special bond with all the animals who live with him, and he showcased his herding skills with the hens, and even gave a helping paw with the sheep. 🐱🐔🐑 Ned’s cheerful energy and love makes him a joy to be around. His willingness to lend a paw and his ability to make friends across species truly set him apart. We’re always thrilled to spent time with this amazing pup and can’t wait to see what new adventures he’ll embark on next! Here at Waggy Tails we have taken the best steps to helping our poochies stay cool in this warm weather.We’ve put steps in to ensure dogs are still looked after during their hoomans work time such as earlier or later walks, shady or water walks, we’ve taken plenty of drinking water and even cut walks down and spent time with the dogs in their homes for cuddle and play times.Here are some top tips for keeping your dog cool during hot weather: 1. Provide ample shade: Create shaded areas in your garden using trees, umbrellas, or canopies. Ensure your dog’s outdoor area has plenty of shade to escape from direct sunlight. 2. Fresh water at all times: Keep your dog well hydrated by providing fresh, cool water throughout the day. 3. Limit outdoor activities: Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Opt for walks and playtime in the early morning or late evening when it’s cooler. 4. Never leave your dog in a parked car: Even with the windows slightly open, temperatures inside a car can rise dangerously high within minutes, leading to heatstroke. It’s best to leave your dog at home in a cool, ventilated space. 5. Cool resting spots: Create cool resting areas inside your home using cooling mats or elevated beds. These help dissipate heat and provide comfort for your dog. 6. Frozen treats: Offer your dog frozen treats like homemade ice pops or frozen dog-safe fruits (e.g., watermelon or bananas). 1 whole year ago Sox became our first ever pawfriend 🐾 We have shared so much together, learnt together and grown together. I have walked Sox 4 days a week almost every week for the last 12 months so it’s safe to say our bond is pretty strong. Sox is a gorgeous nature, although somewhat on the grumpy side towards other dogs, but we have worked hard together along with her owner to improve this and she has come on leaps and bounds.It actually took me 4 weeks of opening my dog business before I had my first booking (aka Sox) and just look at us now! Imagine if I had given up?Well that really was no option and I’m so glad I didn’t 🐶 Happy 1 year friendversary Sox!
