The hottest day of the year is predicted today. Walks nearer midday/early afternoon will be shorter than usual. Energy levels will be kept low, water is always put down post walk and the air con is always on.

Great to have lovely Albus back, Albus has been in the wars having had some lumps removed from his face and then a bad back injury. I’ve not seen him since December. Happy to say he’s still his cheeky fun loving self.

9am and it’s already 25°C!
Shady, low energy walks only today. If it gets too hot for some, I’ll cut things short and make the time up when it’s cooler.

Fresh water is always available in the van and the air con is on at all times.

Good morning, for your information I have increased my maximum dog count per walk from 4 to 5 dogs. 5 dogs will still be fairly rare but is purely because I have recently gone up from 3 pairs from the same household to 6 pairs. All but one of the pairs can comfortably share the same travel cage so it makes sense and is still manageable and safe.

First walk for new kids on the block Winnie and Wilson. Winnie is the energy and Wilson is the wisdom. Awesome dogs, full of character and a fantastic additions. Next step.. meeting the rest of the gang.

Little bit of a nervous start for new youngster Bea. The whole strange man coming into the house and bundling you into the back of a van vibe I can totally understand her being a bit hesitant. Three walks in and she’s loving it, straight off the lead, getting the zoomies and learning to take all her cues from her lovely mum Rhu who I’ve been walking for over a year. Another happy dog!

Big day for little Lottie, no more house visits she’s now old enough for a her first proper hours walk with big sis Luna and some new friends Bronn and Daisy. Even with my AirTag as a precaution I felt very happy to let her straight off the lead and she loved every minute.

With the temperatures set to rise this coming week I will be starting walks earlier to try to avoid the midday/early afternoon heat. Where this isn’t possible walks will be done in as much shade possible, energy levels will be kept down and walks may be slightly shorter. Any time lost will be made up in due course. Fresh water is always put down post walk and the air con will be on in the van at all times.

Free range pooches is what you pay me for, running free with their friends, stretching their legs and enjoying the woods and fields. This unfortunately comes with a few minor hazards like tick season. Boo I hear you say! If I find them I’ll sort them but just be aware it’s that time of year again, I found this little bu**er on Bob this morning.
