Long term resident Fiona has not been blessed in life, she has a much shorter spine than normal meaning she does have some mobility issues. On top of recurrent and persistent corneal ulcers and eye problems, she has recently developed a hematoma in her ear and sadly before Christmas a lump appeared on her bum. Itβs been surgically removed, sent for biopsy and diagnosed today as a mast cell tumour.
Fiona will have a home for life with us, we didnβt choose her, she came via the rescue but is a typical example of when a dog has long term health issues we will not give up on them. Fiona will live as care of the rescue for as long as she has left.
French bulldogs are prone to health issues and spine, ear, eye and skin complaints are sadly the norm - please donβt give up on your pets when they get sick or older. Plan ahead and if you choose not to insure, then make sure you have reserves or at least a sugar daddy on hand who loves dogs πππ΄π»πΆπΎ
