The happy face of Fiona the Frenchie who went to today to collect all the Christmas presents for her and her friends 😍💕🐶🐶🐶🐶
We have a number of long term resident dogs who due to health or behavioural issues can never be rehomed 💔 these presents go a long way to helping them and we are very grateful to everyone who donated 💕💕🎄🙋🏻‍♀️

Long term resident Fiona has not been blessed in life, she has a much shorter spine than normal meaning she does have some mobility issues. On top of recurrent and persistent corneal ulcers and eye problems, she has recently developed a hematoma in her ear and sadly before Christmas a lump appeared on her bum. It’s been surgically removed, sent for biopsy and diagnosed today as a mast cell tumour.
Fiona will have a home for life with us, we didn’t choose her, she came via the rescue but is a typical example of when a dog has long term health issues we will not give up on them. Fiona will live as care of the rescue for as long as she has left.
French bulldogs are prone to health issues and spine, ear, eye and skin complaints are sadly the norm - please don’t give up on your pets when they get sick or older. Plan ahead and if you choose not to insure, then make sure you have reserves or at least a sugar daddy on hand who loves dogs 😂💕👴🏻🐶🐾

We are so very grateful for everyone who has donated to us this Christmas period. We picked up a lovely huge boy of toys, treats and food from Parker and Crowther vets in Churchtown today.
Then came home to find a huge stash of long lasting treats, toys and more food from on the doorstep.
The very kind have had a collection bin for us this month when you can buy an extra tin of dog food at the till to feed a rescue dog, we have had dozen of trays of Christmas dinner to help feed or long term residents over the festive period.

🎄🎅🏼 Christmas appeal for Elf the tiny Chihuahua 🐶🐾
On Sunday night we were contacted by a pet euthanasia service asking if we could urgently help, they were unhappy at being asked to put to sleep a tiny healthy Chihuahua boy who is only six years old.
Elf weighs just 1.7kg and when his owner died he was passed to her partner, this partner then decided he ‘couldn’t stand the sight of him’ and threatened to open the door and throw him on the streets ‘to freeze the death’.
We immediately made arrangements to bring Elf into foster. This tiny lad has an undescended testicle, no vaccination history and is so shut down he can’t even make eye contact 😞💔 we believe that he has been living outside based on his condition and behaviour.
Elf is booked in tomorrow with our vets for castration, removal of his testicle, vaccination and a dental.
Can you help us with Elf’s vet bill? We are completely self funded and rely on donations to cover our costs

Are you treating yourself to new towels for Christmas or having a clear out for new year? The wet weather and muddy paws mean we always need clean towels of all sizes here at Little Legs for our winter walks.
If you have any to donate they can be left at on Roe Lane or on Preston New Road 🥰🐾🎄🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
