Our lovely boys have all been castrated today and had full dentals to get them ready for their new homes. As you can see they are already up and about, wagging their tails and enjoying some snacks before bed.
Thank you again to Copper Beech Veterinary Surgery Ltd who always take such good care of our dogs - without them we wouldnβt be able to make ends meet with our vets bills β€οΈππ»ββοΈπΎπΆ
Thank you to Olivia at Animal Barn in Southport for getting the boys nice and clean β€οΈπΎπΆπΆπΆπΆ
My Take That boys!
The boys are approximately four years old, they have spent their whole lives living in a top floor flat with no outside space. They have never left the flat, been on a walk or even gone to the toilet outside π Jason is the dad to the three others, who were an accidental litter with mum Mina. Iβm surprised (but thankful) there havenβt been more puppies.
Two of the dogs have been crudely clipped off today before I went to collect them, which has helped slightly as they were matted to the skin when I first saw them at the weekend - so it will save some time tomorrow with the groomers. While they have not been mistreated per se, their living conditions have been totally inappropriate and due to the condition of the flat, their owner is now being evicted from the property.
Another local rescue was approached to help and they didnβt just decline, but actually said βthey didnβt careβ when a well meaning member of the public contacted them to say their owner was discussing throwing them out onto the street and abandoning them π
None of the dogs have ever seen a vet, been neutered, vaccinated or even microchipped. They wonβt drink water from a bowl and instead prefer to lick puddles from the floor.
We are already over capacity, we donβt have any staff or kennels and are simply a Mother and Daughter, two dog lovers who started a rescue some years ago and it snowballed. We get no formal funding, we do all the admin, caring, vet trips, walking, home checking and nursing ourselves from our own homes.
We are over capacity with a big wait list and dogs due every week, but we couldnβt say no in this case.
I contacted the largest animal welfare agency in the UK on Saturday - letβs just call them the R***A, explained the condition of the flat and the concerns with the dogs, urine burns, underweight, matted, weeping eyes from the ammonia in the air. While the officer who called me back two days later was nice, he basically confirmed tha
