Keeping your dogs nails the correct length is a really important aspect of your dog's health and wellbeing that can often be accidentally overlooked.
Why is regular nail trimming important? For several reasons!

- Pain free movement. When nails are long enough to touch the floor, the ground pushes the nail up into the sensitive nail bed putting pressure on the joints of the toe and even sometimes causing twisting of the toes.
- Better posture. Having long nails results in the dog having to change how he stands or walks, this puts stress on his body joints that wouldn't normally be there.
- Having shorter nails means there's less chance of catching and tearing one, a painful and unpleasant for your dog.

I’m pleased to announce that the Emmipet teeth cleaning service is coming to Pawfection very soon!

What is the Emmipet?

The Emmipet is an ultrasonic toothbrush designed to help keep your pets teeth clean. It uses ultrasonic technology and so it is noiseless, doesn’t vibrate and is non invasive.

Why do I need to clean my dogs teeth?

Dogs pick up 80% of bacteria through their muzzle, this bacteria can then sit on the teeth and gums where it will develop into a problem. Plaque develops from the bacteria which in turn if left untreated, will then combine with the minerals in the dogs mouth and turn into a hard layer called tartar.
This can eventually lead to periodontitis.

How does the Emmipet work?

The Emmipet itself uses ultrasonic waves and the toothpaste used with it contains nano bubble technology. When you combine the two they work together to pe*****te and push out the bacteria in the dogs mouth. The Emmipet can disperse bacteria in small, hard to reach crevices and even hairline gaps in the enamel.
The Emmipet’s ultrasonic waves pe*****tes 12mm into the gums, meaning that you can be assured your pets mouth is getting a deep clean.
