Kharma worked most of the week in the arena and has really been trying for me along with the horrendous winds to contend with so yesterday was hack day and today let him have some freedom on his loose schooling.

Managed to hack out again today can’t wait to get back in the school.
Today I thought wasn’t going to be very nice day with Mist and -5 forecast, we had the -5 but fortunately not the mist so by lunch time the roads had all defrosted and Kharma and I went out on our hack. Trying to keep him fit and not being able to use the arena has been a nightmare but we always seem to get there. Fab ride on my handsome boy best place to be is behind those ears.

Walking Lance back from the arena and he has his own audience.

Looks who’s home for a few weeks. Started to get his fitness up so loose schooled top video when he started head high, tense not working through his back. The second video shows him starting to relax, round himself off and work through the back loved working with the big boy.

Warming up session today not so much collection, Kharma anticipates a couple of moves at times but I make him wait. Lovely session.

If you watch carefully you will see Kharma doing a little of his Spanish movements yesterday, this was always his thing when he was full of himself he always made me laugh and still does.
He is just feeling so good @ and I am so in love with this horse it's great getting back together.
It’s been so good to get back into the arena, yesterday we had a warm up back into schooling doing the basics after only being able to hack out over the past 2 weeks.
Both Kharma and I have been working hard with the lateral work. Today’s schooling was amazing 😻. Here are a couple of videos of us today one being the half pass, he is striding out so much better as he has become stronger, the other is of us cantering half pass and getting a normal straight flying change. Hard work really does pay and I know we will have good days and not so good but I am really excited for 2023.

Today Kharma and I went and had a lesson with Anna Bostrand-Daly, all I can say I came away buzzing. Both Kharma and I are so much fitter now and I didn’t run out of steam like I had done before. We worked on our lateral moves today for medium, I always getting my angles to deep for the shoulder in and to much bend on my half pass so it was lovely to get these correct. I am so proud of what we have achieved as you all know you have to put in to reap the rewards and I feel I am getting there now. Yes we have put the work in and yes I have been determined to drop some weight and get us both fit which I can say I have managed. We are both feeling great. We both have still a lot of learning but we are enjoying ourselves along the way each day. I am so proud to be back working with this amazing horse and thank you Anna for the most amazing feeling in todays lesson.

Kharma certainly was on one today even when we finished and he follows behind today he had to do a detour but soon realised I was leaving him behind.

It was a wet, windy and cold day today but after not getting much exercise yesterday Kharma needed a leg stretch. He tries it on a couple of times but even though he does he still comes back and does as I ask can’t want more from him.

A new addition for Fenjay Dressage schooling mirrors, excuse the way I’m dressed just keeping dry in the wet weather.

So love this horse enjoying riding him
The boys were having fun in the field today
Loose schooling today and he certainly has started to use himself so much more, it’s been a very slow process to get him loose and free and fit but it’s been worth taking the time.

We have so much fun 🤩 together
