As a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, UK, I am keen to help people train their dogs and puppies using positive, kind and fair training techniques. I know how frustrating it can be when it seems that your dog isn't listening. But quite often, it's usually us, the owners who are not giving our dogs the right information. So, if you want a little bit of help (or a lot), to help learn the best ways to communicate with your dog or puppy, please give me a call.

Congratulations to super pup Honey on achieving her APDT Good Companions Puppy Award. Honey loves life and sometimes struggle to stay still - she has such a great Spaniel wiggle 🤣

A catch-up on some super dogs who achieved their APDT Good Companion Awards recently. Well done to Django (Foundation), Arthur (Beginners) & Beau (Beginners). Well done to their owners too for putting in the work. Spending quality time and being patient with your dog really does pay off. 😍🐾🐾

What a fabulous day we had at our MacMillan Coffee Morning! Thank you so much to all those who helped out, baked, ate cake, drank tea & coffee, supported the tombola & cards/gifts stalls and of course the dogs who all behaved so well. We are on target for raising just over £1,000 - think we might beat last years total!!! Will update you all when we do a final check. Thank you again - it was such a lovely day with lovely people and ace dogs. 😊🐾🐾

Being blind can be a challenge for a dog, but it doesn’t have to prevent them from having fun and loving life. With acute hearing and an amazing sense of smell, for one of these dogs these senses are her ‘eyes’ now. Lovely to see the play between them. Would you have noticed one of them is blind?

These two dogs are very energetic and are getting to know each other. They’ve had walks on-lead together, with a respectful distance between to keep them below threshold with their levels of excitement. Nose to nose meets have gone very well, just a few seconds initially and increasing at each meet. Today they had a fence run together and then a few face-meets through the gate. This is huge progress and we’re working on getting them together for a proper play date - time and patience is key. Well done to both owners for their dedication to calm and positive training with these two lovely boys. 😍

Lovely rescue dog Max had a go at the agility jumps this week. He’s been a very wary, scared dog but trusts his lovely owner completely. Well Done Julie, he’s coping so well in the Fun and Focus classes, around other dogs and people and now he’s working on his fitness levels 😁🐾🐾 Love it!

I love to see clients’ dogs trying out the activities we post. Sophie and Bea having fun with the homemade bottle spinner 😍 When a walking isn’t always possible, brain games are just as tiring! 👍😊🐾🐾

Waiting patiently for that fleeting glance of eye contact from Reggie, before he gets the ‘okay’ to take the treat. We did agility, with weave poles, balance work and a special bit of training to desensitise Reggie to having his nails clipped. One nail clipped - a first for his owner so a huge step for them both!

Now you all know I’m a cool dog, (despite the pink hat!!) I love to play/work for a throw of the ball - human is impressed with me on this one 😁 But… I will chase after a ball in ANY weather and temperature ‘cos I can’t help myself.
As it’s so hot Peta’s won’t let me play with a ball at all ‘cos she doesn’t want me to suffer from heat exhaustion - it could kill me apparently! But…she said I can have them when the weather is cooler 👍 So to all you humans - don’t play fetch with your dog in this heat!! Thank you 😊🐾🐾

A message from Ellie & Bo to all our client dogs - tell your human not to walk you in this heat!!! We’ve not even been on the paddock today. Peta’s taking us for a late-night forage when the sun’s gone down - we’ve agreed it’s an excellent idea! Be like us - be cool!!

Happiness is…..at 11 years old Ellie is still loving the simple things in life. 😍🐾🐾

The mole hunter at work! Bo did catch a mole last week but didn’t know what to do with it. I gave it back it’s freedom so we will probably just have to learn to live with mole hills on the paddock and the excavating done by Bo! 🤣

When a pup doesn’t get chance to interact with other dogs they don’t learn how to do appropriate off-lead ‘play’. The young brindle dog, Rocky, is gradually learning what is okay and what is not, with the help of these other super dogs. Thank you to their owners for trusting me to supervise the session for a positive experience for them all. 😊🐾🐾

Lovely interaction between handsome Beau and pretty Border Collie, Rose. Beau is so confident with a playful temperament. He doesn’t always read body language well from other dogs and isn’t put off by Rose’s attempts to round him up and head him off 😂 He knows he can outrun her too - he covers the ground like a gazelle! Rose isn’t frustrated by this as she’s getting to chase him - just what she needs. 👍😍

Little Bo and Merlin had a lovely play session after class this week. Bo might be little but she’s happy to play with bigger dogs and loves a good game of chase. Merlin has a super temperament. Lovely body language from Bo, encouraging puppy Merlin to play. 😍

So, mole catchers these two are not! Mole was in there but beat a hasty retreat! I’ve since had to fill in said hole to save anyone stepping into it!!! Happiness is…..hunting for moles, even when you can’t catch them 😁🐾🐾

Here’s a little video showing that Bessie can work around the other dogs and also work at a distance from her owner. Sending to a mat is such a useful task and Bessie demonstrates this so well. Well Done Bessie and Lisa 👍😊🐾🐾

This young GSD is learning to be calm around other dogs. Beni is a superb dog with a lovely temperament but he’s at that impulsive teenage stage. Lovely to see him doing so well in the group. He is learning so many social skills, including playing more respectfully with Bessie, the beautiful Corgi. Bessie is brill, shouts at Beni if he gets too boisterous with her and Beni backs off. Love that owners and their dogs are happy to work to help each other in the sessions. Thank you everyone. 👍😊🐾🐾
