Bad weather? Injury? Anxious walk the day before? Try some enrichment indoors with some training treats scrunched in some paper in egg boxes, wrapped in an old towel, hidden in a snuffle mat or simply scattered on the floor and hidden around the room. The action of finding, dissecting, and consuming helps dogs to use their brains and calm down, so a walk might not even be needed today. Perfect for the days when it's not safe or suitable for you or your dog to venture out. Remember, running constantly for a ball can cause injury, and long walks build stamina but can be more stimulating than calming at times if they have a high prey/chase drive, BUT brain exercises help their brains to work and puzzle-solve, perfect for calming and satisfying their basic instinctive needs. Ten minutes after this video, all 3 are sleeping peacefully.

A varied and healthy diet is essential for a happy dog. Happy insides mean better emotional balance, ability to learn and contentment. How do you vary your dogās diet to make it fun, nutritious and interesting??? #caninenutrition #dogfood #dognutrition #betterdogfood #healthydogs
Breakthrough! Giving a diverse but nutrient rich diet, as opposed to one kibble plonked in a bowl each and every day has given Kenni a better appetite and love of food. 3 dog food myths - you have to feed the same thing day in day out, you have to feed the amount on the pack as gospel, you have to transition from one food to another slowly! Kenni is getting a more diverse diet than he ever has and his stomach is much better for it! High quality and easily digested proteins, good carbs and fruits and veg. No more runny poo! No more picky eating and I know what heās eating is good for him. Nutrition plays such an important part of a dogās wellbeing both physically and mentally and itās a minefield out there!! Kenni was on a poor quality kibble when he came to us. Sure we need to be selective and careful with his tummy, but since we have found the foods he loves, thereās no stopping him! Of course medical issues play a part in a dogās diet and Iād always recommend speaking with a vet before changing, but through trial and error ( Iāve thrown away a lot of food he wouldnāt touch - including the kibble that was recommended ) we have come to a stage where Kenni is eating a balanced and healthy diet. He has some high quality kibble in with this but Iām actually considering omitting kibble completely due to the āadded vitaminsā and the fact that many are chemical and not from whole foods. Thereās much more to learn on nutrition but Iām very keen to know as much as I can, considering one in every two dogs dies from cancer which many can be prevented by change of diet. ###

This can be used in a variety of ways. Keeping dog safe at the kerb, controlling multiple dogs and to assist with loose lead walking! Give it a go!!!
