Unfortunately it's foxtail season again 😞 Foxtail plants are a weed-type grass that can cause serious problems for animals!
Ear infections, nosebleeds/rhinitis, pyothorax, abscesses and tetanus are just SOME of the serious issues that can come from these little guys! If you notice your pet repeatedly sneezing, pawing at their ears, coughing or acting uncomfortable, these could be signs of a possible foxtail and should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Please, please, please check between your dogs toes when they have been near grass.
Grass seeds are horrendous when they get between toes and work their way up though the leg tissue. Cosmo was lucky, his grass seed had only traveled up his foot by an inch but it was still a full operation to remove it.
I find these seeds stuck between toes all the time, those dogs are the lucky ones because I’ve found it before it does any damage. It takes two minutes to check

It’s that time of year again when grass seeds are everywhere. PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE check your dogs paws after a walk. Check between the toe’s. Look for signs of irritation. Is the dog licking, is the area swollen. I’m finding grass seeds during a groom but if not found then it’s a visit to the vet for an operation to remove them as they tract their way up the inside of the leg. There are lots of grass plants around the beach area especially Roker pier. Please just check after every walk.

I would like to thank all my loyal clients and their gorgeous fur babies for their support and kindness over the last year. It has certainly been a very scary time for everyone. It has been an especially hard year for all small businesses.
