Strattons is located in Swaffham, a thriving and bustling Norfolk market town set in the fascinating and historic Brecks. Swaffham remains the elegant architectural gem it was in its Georgian heyday, with many Georgian and Victorian façades concealing their medieval origins. Strattons sits in a conservation area within the town, offering an ideal base from which to explore the Brecks, Norwich, King's Lynn, North Suffolk, the Norfolk Broads, the North Norfolk coast and Cambridge. Enjoy healthy walking, jogging, cycling and horse riding on the ancient track ways and peaceful forest trails. The nationally recognised bird reserves within the tranquil and breathtaking North Norfolk coastline is only a short drive away, and Norwich a diverse and sophisticated city with Norman Castle, 12th century cathedral and fabulous shopping. Norwich, the capital city of Norfolk, grew out of various Saxon settlements along the river Wensum and in the Medieval period was second only to London, its wealth built on the wool and textile industries. From the Red Room, with its carved four-poster bed, open fire and decadent colours, to the tranquil O***m suite where the freestanding bath sits at the end of the bed with room for two and the slick Print rooms, 2 stylish one bedroom apartments complete with kitchen, dining area, lounge, cinema screens and surround sound. There is a blend of comfort with beautiful things collected and loved; an environment that is glamorous, yet immediately puts people at ease. Stratton's award winning restaurant is open daily from 5pm. The kitchen has a committed philosophy to use the plentiful and abundant seasonal produce on its own doorstep. Everything is made on the premises from the very best produce the local suppliers bring to the kitchens, as well as eggs from the hotels hens and fruit from the orchard. 'CoCoes' café deli sits at the hotel's entrance and is open daily offering fresh, wholesome, nourishing and delicious food using local producers and suppliers. To prepare, cook and serve food in the hotel's restaurant or cafe deli whilst maintaining high levels of customer service at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* To supply the highest level of customer care and service whether in the front of house or in the back areas.
* To prepare, cook and serve any food delegated as your responsibility ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times.
* To be knowledgeable and confident in the businesses ethos, service and policies.
* To make and serve a range of drinks including using a coffee machine.
* To adhere to company procedures in regards to temperature checks, food labeling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations at all times and ensuring that all records of such are updated and kept.
* To assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries and that all relevant company procedures are adhered to.
* To be flexible in your work and assist colleagues when required.
* To ensure you maintain your work areas to a clean, hygienic and tidy state at all times.
* To carry out daily and weekly procedures whether cleaning or maintaining records.
* To wear the full and correct uniform at all times whether in the public eye or in the back of house areas.
* To protect the Gross Profit % through the control of wastage, stock rotation and portion control.
* To recognise the importance of good stock management/control and its importance in the kitchen meeting its Gross Profit %.
* To remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or equipment and report any problems to the Senior Chef or Manager.
* To be fully aware and adhere to the following procedures:Sickness and accident report procedures, Fire and evacuation procedure.
* To be fully aware and adhere to the businesses Environmental policy.
* To comply with all COSHH and safety requirements relating to chemicals andequipment used in the kitchen.
* To attend all meeting and training sessions in which you are required.
* To comply with any reasonable request from your superiors.
This Job Description is not exhaustive and you may be asked to carry out additional duties during your shift. Full and continuous training given, including external training sessions.
Applicants must be available to work weekends, holidays and bank holidays with a mix of shifts working mornings, day times or evenings between the hours of 7am and midnight.

🍽You can make a dinner booking for our restaurant Afterfive online through our website www.strattonshotel.com for evenings from & including Saturday 4th July from 5pm - 8pm. Afterfive will now be located in CoCoes, (not the main hotel).
☕️CoCoes cafe deli will be open from Saturday 4th July from 10am with the following opening time’s:
Monday to Saturday 7.30am - 2pm
Saturday & Sunday 8.30am - 2pm
Just a reminder that we do not take bookings in CoCoes & tables will be on a first come first serve basis.
Both our restaurant & cafe deli will have limited seating to meet the government guidelines.
🥂Afternoon tea is back daily from Tuesday 7th July from 12.30-3.30pm pre-booked with 72 hours notice. July & August’s theme is ‘The tiger who came to tea’.
As instructed by the government we cannot open Strattons prior to the 4th therefore please note we can only accept online bookings through our website until then. Reception will open at 9am on Saturday 4th July.
