Pickfords recently managed the relocation of the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) headquarters to their new facility in Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏢

The project began with a planning meeting involving various stakeholders, resulting in a 4-week work schedule. This multi-phase project included a comprehensive audit, sustainable recycling of 90% of old furniture, the auctioning of various pieces of equipment and more.

We moved items to both the SPS central storage location and the new HQ building, including staff crates, safes, racking systems and confidential filing 📚 📁

Weekly progress reports were submitted to SPS, detailing our labour and transport usage, recycling tonnage generated and our progress against the overall project plan 📊

Throughout the relocation, we adhered to various site safety rules and ensured the move was completed on time and within budget.

Happy World Honey Bee Day! 🐝

We are excited to share that Pickfords has recently sponsored ‘Pollen Palace’, a beehive in Wickersley, Rotherham, as part of our ‘It’s Now for Nature’ strategy. Our bees are currently gearing up for the autumn and winter months, engaging in essential activities such as honey production and storage, hive maintenance and adjusting the queen’s egg-laying patterns. These preparations are crucial for the hive’s survival through the colder seasons.

Last year, Pickfords were appointed to manage the complex move of the Royal Sussex Hospital to their new state-of-the-art facility, The Louisa Martindale Building 🏥🚚

Pickfords Business Solutions team spent 6 months collaborating with stakeholders within the trust to create a seamless transition plan, focusing on maintaining patient care continuity throughout. We executed the move in three critical stages:

1️⃣ Pre-move equipment delivery: Over a period of 8 months, we delivered equipment to The Louisa Martindale Building.

2️⃣ Relocation: 25 dedicated Pickfords staff worked around the clock to relocate 200 ward beds, furniture and equipment for 60 hospital departments, ensuring everything was in place for a smooth transition.

3️⃣ Environmental clearance: We collected and recycled all unwanted furniture to support Royal Sussex's commitment to sustainability, ensuring zero landfill waste.

Today is United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons, a day dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking and protecting the rights of trafficking victims 🌍

💻 Removed 400 old monitors, thin clients, keyboards, mice, and redundant cables
📦 Repacked and removed old kit sustainably, reducing project waste
🔄 Recommissioned and reconnected new IT setups with top-notch cable management and security

Our efficient process ensured minimal disruption to the client's operations, enabling a smooth transition to their new IT infrastructure. Euros 2024 has officially come to an end... Congratulations to Spain on their victory against England last night! 🎉

We loved seeing our staff support and celebrate their teams throughout the tournament. Here are some pictures showing how Pickfords celebrated the event.

We had some very dedicated Scotland fans - both Roddy Wylie and Graeme Hardie flew out to Germany to watch the matches. Although Scotland didn't make it out of the group stage, their effort was commendable. Pickfords Scotland are very proud! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Pickfords' Customer Service Manager, Lizzie Dibble, has raised over £22,000 for Brain Tumour Research! 🌟🚴‍♀️

Lizzie (pictured) cycled over 300 miles over four days in memory of her late brother Steve and his wife Ali, who both tragically passed away last year.

During the latter stages of Steve's illness, he and his daughter embarked on their final journey together, from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk to Cullompton in Devon, to spend the final weeks of Steve’s life with his family.

Poignantly, his loved ones, including Lizzie, cycled the same journey, to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts. They completed their challenge on 13th June 2024.

Huge congratulations to Lizzie for raising such a considerable amount for such a great charity. Special thanks to everyone at Pickfords for their support during this epic fundraiser 💙
