Wow I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. With it’s ups and downs and uncertainty.
Christmas is just around the corner and the kids are getting excited already🎄🎅🏼

Good morning 🤩

Sorry for the radio Silence lately, it’s been a very busy last few months for Dapper dogs🐾
We finally have some fabulous sun ☀️
I hope you all have a amazing weekend.
But just a quick reminder of advice for your pooches whilst the weather remains warm.

The signs of heatstroke in dogs are

* heavy panting.
* excessive drooling.
* diarrhoea.
* vomiting.
* reddened gums.
* lethargy.

Please be careful and make sure your pooches have plenty of shade where they can cool off if you’re out and about. I lay wet towels about for mine in the garden ♥️ and make sure have plenty of fresh water to drink. 🐾♥️

Carol Neenan not sure if it’s posted on my business page. Buddy hasn’t got a bad bone in him, he just isn’t too keen on being made a fuss with and I’m guided by what he allows me to do comfortably. He may be small but he’s very strong and regardless he always gives me plenty of kisses during to reassure me he’s happy. Buddy my dapper dogs tribe 🐾♥️

Before and after 🥰♥️ suki the schnauzer is a regular and very much use to the whole grooming Shabam. Very lady like and polite, today she brought her younger baby brother with her Monty 👀 who was a little excited but actually very relaxed in the bath. A little unsure of the dryer but baby dryer for baby pooches. Overall it was a happy ending ♥️ my dapper dogs tribe 🐾♥️ Monty and Suki

Excuse my puppy voice 👀 This little Poppet is Penny the poodle. She hasn’t always been a poppet 👀 she still can be very stubborn and mouths at me. She’s come a very long way from when she first started coming to me. I actually thought at one point there was no hope. She reacts well to my voice squeaks to stop her from mouthing and enjoys belly rubs (I think a distraction from being groomed she hopes) penny is stubborn, knows what she likes and doesn’t like. And will try and get away with the bare minimum 😉 Penny poodle my Dapper dogs tribe 🐾🥰♥️

The beautiful Bon Bon and Bertie today ♥️🥰🐾 Bonnie is very loving and gentle and full of kisses and love. A pro at being groomed.
Bertie’s 2nd visit today for a full groom and Scissor he was very patient with me, I allowed him some down time after the bath and blow dry to have a quick zoom around the salon and then he adjusted to me needing his attention.

Hello everyone🐾♥️

I hope this message finds you all well.
I can finally fully reopen the salon.
If I haven’t been in contact please give me a nudge.
I will continue to wear PPE and limit people in the salon. Please continue to wear your masks also.

As I am nearing full capacity with clients,
I would really recommend block booking your appointments to guarantee a space and continue on a schedule to keep on top of your pooches coat 🥰♥️

I am now only open every other Saturday so please keep in mind if you are wanting weekend appointments.

Let’s get these pooches looking dapper again ♥️ I am very much looking forward to seeing everyone. Summer is on its way and times are looking positive.

♥️HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY DAPPER DOGS♥️

Another year has passed and it has been one of the most difficult years in the whole 18 years of running Dapper dogs.
I wrote out a long post but it’s all doom and gloom, we all know how crappy this past year has been. The main point of this post is to say thank you to each and everyone of you for your continued support and love we have all shared this last year through all it’s dark times it has shown me that I have some amazing clients/friends that actually made me realise I am not just your groomer ♥️ and you are not just my clients. So please with all my heart take how grateful I am that I’m able to still say Happy 18th birthday to my other baby

Update 📢 after tonight’s announcement it looks like I will be able to open the salon fully for regular grooms from April 12th . I will give all of my clients a call/message over the next coming days that have had their appointments cancelled to rebook you after that date. Or if you want to contact me please do so.

I will still remain closed up until then, only able to open for welfare. April 12th is still some time away so if you feel like your pooches coat is beginning to matt/matted,over grown nails, skin conditions and vet referrals then also contact me and we can discus the next appropriate steps together.

I know this has been a very stressful lockdown for all. And I hope you have all kept well.
I want to thank you all for your patience and kind messages and support once again.
You all are doing a wonderful job at keeping your pooches maintained until I can work my magic 💫 I have been missing you all.

Covid update

I’m so sorry but I feel the right thing to do for me is to temporarily close the salon for the next two weeks fully and then I’ll reopen only for welfare as and when you contact me. we had a update last night which defines welfare... if dogs are matting or beginning to mat or referral from the vets for skin conditions. I’ve spoken already to all of you and discussed your dogs conditions through out January and nearer the time I’ll contact you if you have a appointment in February.

I’d like to thank you all for being wonderful again as always. ❤️

I have been struggling to keep up with customers messages and also home schooling this time around is taking a little longer to get into some kind of routine.
Whilst the cases are so high atm it feels the right move to do for me. Especially whilst the kids would have to come to the shop with me.

We had the update last night which I had already put in place but if anyone needs me in the next couple of weeks you can contact me and I’ll be available to advise you.

This is going to be a struggle financially for me and my little business. But I feel is the correct way to go for now at least for you as customers and myself and my family xx

Covid update

By staying open am I adding to the transmission of the virus... Not protecting you as a customer or myself and my family?

A dogs welfare and wellbeing is highly important to me as to you too which is why most of my customers come to me, I do not do creative grooming. And we choose humanity over vanity.

I’ve been scrolling page after page about what I’m allowed to do with the opening of the salon legally and then morally what sits well with me...

Legally as far as I’m aware at this present time I’m allowed to open for welfare grounds still,
I had already rescheduled the shorter coated dogs and I kept the dogs scheduled in which I felt would be affected if they missed a appointment (my curly coated breeds) and ones that struggled the first lockdown.

Morally I feel I should close as In all honesty I want to know I’m not contributing to the awful rises in this pandemic and also wanting to keep my customers safe and myself safe along with the two children of mine who now I will have with me home schooling too.

So with that being said I feel the correct procedure would be to discuss with you what you feel your pooch will fall under if they miss a appointment? Can they wait or will waiting cause discomfort to your pooch? You know your dog better than anyone ❤️

I know I have felt safe at the salon following covid guidelines. No one to enter the salon. My main concern is is your journey to me valid as essential? I will open up two days a week for welfare and review this again in the next coming weeks. If the guidelines change I’ll keep you updated ...

Happy new year 🥳 nearly 😉
I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and looking forward to a new year ahead of us. I know this 2020 has tested us all, it’s had many lows and not so many highs 😢 and my love goes out to all of you.

As we are now in tier 4, our industry is classed as essential under welfare grounds only so I can remain open under welfare only no creative grooming ..There is a grey area on what people class as welfare, which I’m taking it as to maintain a dogs coat, skin and nails. Making sure dogs do not suffer ie with matts long nails or discomfort, the first lock down made me realise the impact of missing a couple appointments for a few of you. If I feel your pooch can hold on a bit longer I will contact you to rearrange,if you feel yourself you would rather rearrange I can pop you onto a list for rescheduling when you feel is best.

Please keep to the no entry into the salon and wait for me to open the salon door to allow your pooches into the shop. Please continue to wear masks,and if you have any covid symptom or awaiting a test please let me know ASAP, I will completely understand even if it’s last minute.

Please be on time for drop off and collection as I will have added time on to clean the salon between pooches. 🐾

Well what can I say.... 2020 has been a odd one for sure, but with the new year just around the corner I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a amazing 2021 for everyone. ⭐️

I am sorry for being quiet this past week.
Just when I thought 2020 couldn’t get any more depressing our gorgeous Rocco had a fast growing lump come up on the top of his beautiful head, he had it tested and the results were a spindle cell tumour he had it removed yesterday along with a lump on his side and is now in recovery, I’m awaiting for the results of what’s next and a plan going forward but I know how much you all love him and how much he loves you all and thought you would want to know. I hope you’re all staying well and safe, and I hope to see you all soon,

😷🚦 COVID UPDATE ....

Firstly I want to say I hope everyone is staying safe and keeping well🥰 after last nights announcement I am still waiting for further guidance before I have to make a decision on if the salon remains open or I close up shop on Thursday😢
If I have any customers who are booked in the next 4 weeks who would like to rearrange for December please drop me a message. ❤️
There are a lot of grey areas again with the announcement and I want to be sure that I am able to continue to keep you all safe either way, I do have a protocol at the shop which I feel has been smoothly running. If I do decide to close on Thursday I will contact all of you who have appointments but also feel free to message me too.
