A big thank you goes out to everyone who already donates to our shop and Wildlife Rescue Centre! Our charity shops raise the majority of the funds needed to run our Wildlife Rescue Centre, pay the bills and our staff. Without our shops there wouldn’t be RSPCA Oak and Furrows. To raise funds, we need good quality donations to sell.

There’s the old saying ‘if you don’t ask, you don’t get’. We are asking you, our wonderful supporters, to please have a clear out and bring the clothes you no longer wear, and household items you no longer use along to our charity shops. Your generous donations can help us raise much needed funds and ensure a second chance for injured, unwell and orphaned wildlife. We have ten charity shops located across the North Wiltshire and Newbury District, to find your closest shop click the link below:

Don't forget, if you're a UK taxpayer you can Gift Aid your donations for free and we can claim an additional 25% from the sale of your donated goods from the government!

We Would Love to hear from you 🦊🦔

Good morning! Welcome to a new week.

We have opportunities for voluntary work in some of our charity shops! This includes shop floor, sorting donations, pricing, labelling and displaying items. This role does not have to be customer facing if you prefer to work behind the scenes!
If you are interested in a voluntary retail role please send us an email with your contact details to: [email protected] entitling your message 'Shop Volunteering'. We are really excited to meet you!

Benefits of volunteering in our shops:
🦔you get to work in a friendly, small team of people
🦔You can do as much or as little as you can commit to
🦔We have roles available for all, including those who may be less able
🦔Your hard work brings in crucial fundraising to help the animals in our wildlife centre
🦔Volunteering can give you experience for CVs
🦔We can provide you with work based references for future job applications
🦔You would be part of a great volunteer team which RSPCA Oak and Furrows centre and shops would not manage without!

Other admin based voluntary roles such as fundraising and marketing, branch administration and client services are also available so please email the address above if you are interested, letting us know how much time you would be able to commit.

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered on our stall and to all our supporters who came along with their dogs and stopped by to say hello, donate and purchase items. We raised a total of £184.85. This will be used in our Wildlife Centre to rehabilitate and release the many creatures that come into our care. Every penny helps so thank you so much for all your support 🦉🦊🦆❤️

Please bring any items into our Thatcham Charity Shop during opening hours. We will then pass onto Oak & Furrows. Thank You.

Could you donate any old sheets, towels or duvet covers that you may have? We are using a lot and our patients really do like a nice fresh bed daily!

If you can help, donations can be dropped at the wildlife centre or at any of our RSPCA charity shops in Swindon Gorse Hill, Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Witney, Warminster, Newbury or Thatcham. If you are able to drop at one of our shops, please mark this as for the Wildilfe Centre.

Thank you for your support.

Our Story

  • We are an independent branch of the RSPCA, created in 1962, (we are a separate charity to the National Society) raising money locally to support our animal welfare work.

  • We offer veterinary/financial assistance to owners in receipt of benefits to help animals most in need locally. Go to our website https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/newbury-and-district-branch and click on the 'About us' tab, then enter your postcode to confirm you are in our branch area. We also promote responsible pet ownership through neutering and microchipping campaigns.

  • Our branch is run by a committee of locally elected volunteers who are responsible for the management and administration of the branch's affairs. We as a branch do not have a local re-homing centre but work closely with other local charities to assist where we can.
